Sundarban pays homage to the lush cuisines of eastern India and Bangladesh by, first of all, naming itself after the region its imaginative menu represents. Plus, in order to do Sundarban’s complex culinary traditions justice, the head chef scored himself a Curry Life scholarship and spent several years sharpening his chops in top-flight Indian and Middle Eastern kitchens. The result is a restaurant that is one of northwest London’s dining defaults when tiger-like spice and deep and dreamy mangrove meals are the order of the day. Found on Cricklewood Broadway, just a few minutes up Shoot-Up Hill from Kilburn station or Cricklewood overground in the other direction, this quaint neighbourhood restaurant is one to check out if you’re a South Asian food fan.
