Lovely food but poor service especially as the restaurant wasn't very busy. We ordered a round of drinks & when we queried where they were we were told "over there on the bar", poor.

Lovely decor, good food and friendly staff. what more do you need? Slightly more expensive than an average pub, but it is worth it. The pub has a quiz on a Thursday evening, which was informal and fun to join in with.

Waited at the 'Wait to be seated' sign for 5mins, no staff around apart from bar staff who ignored us! In the end, we just left and went for dinner elsewhere. Not surprised now, only one table was filled!

We all enjoyed the food and the general ambience. The only reason why I've not awarded full marks is because I think they were a little understaffed so service was slow, however we still enjoyed our evening.

Came in yesterday evening for a Christmas Meal in order to celebrate American Thanksgiving without having booked it properly, but luckily the restaurant was extremely obliging and it was no problem to order the roast turkey dinner with all the fixings. Delicious and great, friendly service, will definitely be back.

Young staff were friendly but a little too keen to take our food order. Possibly as it was quiz night the night we visited & they wanted to get finished. Food good, portion size on large side. We would return.

Great food served with a smile! Although some items missing from the menu, presumable due to busy day? Fish & Chips were well received by our American visitors as well as the Staek & Ale Pie. Will be joining you again, soon!

First class service, superb meal, friendly and helpful staff, good value. Will definitely call again when in the area. The system of booking on line was not only convenient but very successful.

The food was exceptional and the table service was very efficient. The only thing that let down the whole experience was the slow bar service when we first arrived (not enough bar staff in my opinion). If that had been better, full marks would have been awarded.

Really lovely food, we pre-ordered our food which was great as having only limited time on lunch hour. Food was ready shortly after we arrived which left us plenty of time to enjoy.

The food, drink & service were all very good; the only downside was the tills were playing up & you couldn't see an itemised bill.

Thursday 24 March 2016. Food was a long time coming. When we left we discovered they had colouring etc for the children, but this was not brought to our attention so we could keep our two grandchildren amused during the long wait for the food. Most of the food was good/very good except the sausage and mash. The sausages were inedible - cooked/re-cooked so the outside was hard and tough. Did complain and they gave us £1.99 off the bill. This pub used to serve loads of vegetables with the meals; now we had to pay extra for veg for two of the meals (including the sausage and mash). Altogether a disappointing experience marginally alleviated by the bill reduction.

Certainly wont be going again!! Service was very slow and they were not that busy, no vegetables on two of the main meals re poor value for money, one course the sausages was 3 of them and mash in a bowl!!!! for £10 you have to be joking, The stuffed pork was good but no veg just potato and 3 pieces of stuffed pork for £14!!! poor value again. Each time we had to ask for service and if we had not asked for the bill at the same time as we ordered coffee we would i am sure still be there!!! the two steak pies were good, credit where its due.

Excellent food and value for money. Staff were attentive while the surroundings were welcoming on a very cold evening. One or two dishes were off the menu which limited our starter choice.

The food delicious, the service could be better. I have been twice now, and have thoroughly enjoyed the food. The service not too good. First time was not offered the dessert menu or if we would like tea or coffee, too busy with the quiz! The second time asked for the bill and the young man went off and started pulling pints. Had to ask again.

I first visited a couple of weeks ago and had an outstanding experience. Fantastic food and service. Tonight was not up to scratch I'm afraid. My brother had to send back his venison as the mash was out of the fridge cold and there was no jous and my meal was mediocre. The waitresses seemed more interested in gossiping with the gentlemen at the bar than serving the customers which was a shame. So overall, not bad

Service slow. Rhubarb fool was not a fool, it was rhubarb with cream on top and very expensive at nearly £6. Main courses, roast beef and lamb shank good but Yorkshire Pudding not cooked.
