We all enjoyed celebrating my Mum's Birthday. Always a good evening here with great food.

Evening out for a few beers with my 3 sons my brother & nephew had a great time nice food good service.

Food was very nice and service was good, would happily go again. Bombay potatoes were a bit cold but the flavour was very good, chicken bhuna was nice but lacked that real vibrant flavour that you hope for. Tikka masala was very good couldn’t fault it. Chicken tandoori starter did not seem all that fresh like it had been waiting a while and did not need the spicy sauce that came with it, perhaps that could be offered when ordering. All in all though was a pleasant experience.

A great restaurant, found on TripAdvisor so decided to give its a go. A group of four on a night out. The food was great with good service.

Great curries. Well Spiced, good quality meats and wonderful flavours. Service is ok but is not to the same standard as the food. Highly recommended nevertheless.

We had two curries and both were excellent . Of note was the very high standard of the chicken - succulent and perfectly sized.

Brilliant food and service with a smile. The prawn starter was up there with one of the best indian dishes I have ever had. Can't reccomend this place highly enough.

The food is splendid - the meat far better quality than your average curry house - plus amiable waiters and a free round of digestifs at the end!

Certainly the best South Asian food I have had in Portsmouth. Freshly cooked food, attentive waiters and an all-round good experience. I was introduced to this restaurant only recently but will make many returns.

We went there for my wife's leaving do. Great atmosphere, great food and the staff are excellent. No rush to finish your meal making it a great place to dine.

Food was very nice, tasty a drink spicy. However small quantities for the price. Not very friendly staff. Free complimentary drinks was a nice surprise.

The food was excellent. One of the best Indian meals I have had. The service was very good also. We visited early in the evening before a show at the Kings Theatre and were in and out within 90 minutes. Don't be put off by the exterior - the restaurant is bigger than it looks and is clean and comfortable. I would recommend it.

I was suprised and a little disappointed they only had one vegetarian main (vegetable biriyani) but it was very nice. The staff were very pleasant and polite.

T & J Mahal has great Indian food and Cobra on tap! It has a nice atmosphere and we will certainly be visiting again in the near future!
