Good food and atmosphere in both pub and restaurant. Could do with more space in pub for non diners
Cadre sympa. Nourriture bonne mais un peu chère. Bye bye
Great food and wine for good prices too. Great experience.
Always reliable here, food is always excellent and menu is frequently changed.
Noisy place, table was just next to the bathroom, service is long
Excellent food!!!beat roast in a long time. Just a small bar and quick turn around.
Excellent neighbourhood pub providing very good food, a very welcoming and friendly service. As it is a popular place, it can get noisy and service can slow down when it is in full swing.
Great pub and atmosphere with amazing food. The roast were delicious and quite possibly the best Yorkshire pudding we’ve ever had. Definitely recommend.
Very busy but great service. Lovely food. Definitely will go back.
Great food, very busy/lively atmosphere without being 'too' loud. recommended.
This pub has really gone down hill recently, the food has been disappointing on at leat the last three occasions, this used to be our go to place for good food, unfortunately not the case nowadays. On a plus side the venue, service is great and there are a good selection of beers on tap.
Excellent food and brilliant, attentive service. Made a really enjoyable experience.
fantastic food and service- definitely recommend. Lovely way to end a Sunday evening.
Amazing Sunday roast, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Very highly recommended!
Lovely Buzzy Sunday evening dinner. Food delicious and great ambiance.
Best place in London for Sunday diner by fare 🙂
There was an incredibly noisy group at the table right next to us. Unfortunately they seemed to be 'regulars' so perhaps were given more leeway than normal. Made conversation impossible and the 'language' employed was less than tasteful. Ruined the evening, difficult to enjoy anything with such a side show
Four of us had a fabulous meal. I had crispy duck and squid ink pasta, both excellent. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We loved the atmosphere. Cocktails were good too.
Great service and great food combined with a warm ’cosy pub’’ feel
Roast beef was delicious and lovely atmosphere! All round great experience!
Great food and nice service, a little spoiled by at 10.15 as it seemed itvwas a quiet night piling the chairs onto tables, they should wait until diners have departed.
Good service and the food was fine. Good local pub.
What an amazing Sunday roast. The Yorkshire’s are huge, the beef delicious and the whole meal was fab. Good price too.
Great pub for London. Excellent menu with great pub classics. Food served promptly, hot and plentiful and served by a smiley, friendly waitress.
love the pub, food wasn't quite up to the usual standard (risotto in particular)
Great local pub, I "needed" a burger and it hit the spot.
Really disappointed with the squid ink linguine, but my friends who had the pie LOVED it. Great service and great atmosphere. Will be coming again just won't be ordering the pasta! lol
The restaurant and food are consistently good. My favourite local place to eat.
Food as good as expected and the bill was reasonable. Pity about the two young 20s female diners who thought they had to shout at the person facing them 2 feet away. Their conversation was not even mildly interesting. Overall a pub meal that we should repeat.
Very busy. Staff were great. Food was lovely and plentiful.
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Great evening we will be back!
Great food and great service as always, would highly recommend
Great staff very good service As always Will be back
Great food and a lovely buzzy atmosphere on a Sunday night.
Really good food and great service on a busy Sunday
Great atmosphere, service and food! An all round great evening.
They had run out of two of three roasts which they failed to tell us when we arrived so we wasted fifteen mins selecting them and then being told they didn’t have them. Then we were told they had also run out of cauliflower cheese and olives as we tried to order these... I know Sunday’s are busy but we booked for seven o’clock and many other table bookings came in after us -// maybe plan better on stock ordering? We had to wait a while for service. After all of this our dishes arrived (all the same because of what was left) and one plate didn’t have any green beans and we all had what looked like a quarter of a potato cut in two for roast potatoes. We asked for more and along came a small bowl (I think they were running low) for which we were charged £6! It was one potato chopped up tops... somebody finally came by the check after one of the table had already finished. Too late to start faffing. On thé rest of the menu we struggled. Loads of vegetarian/vegan offers and lots of fish - not much we honestly wanted to try. Shame as last time we visited it was a different experience. Either they struggle on busy days or it has gone a bit downhill.
Great food, great service. Highly recommend for a Sunday roast.
We had several options to weigh up for a Sunday roast - no.33 (on the same road), Knife and No.24 the Oval. We chose Abbeville. We were seated right beside the men’s loos, not long after that we realised the door would not stop swinging/squeaking. Then we noticed the bar attached to the restaurant was showing Sunday football and their bar was packed. With men. Imagine a never ending rotation of people going in/out the men’s loos. We thought about asking to move but by the time we discussed that the food was about to arrive so hurried up and figured would be more pain free just to eat and go. I did decide to flag to the woman who seated us that sitting next to the male loo door during Sunday football with a packed bar full of males should be reserved for walk ins or come with a warning. When the answer starts with ‘but’ and continues with ‘but’ that’s when you really have an issue ‘but you booked today and it was the only table’ ok but it should come with a warning ‘but the male loos are two doors back’ that’s irrelevant to the amount of people swinging the door back and forth on their way in/out. To conclude my thoughts on this ‘but I paid £55 for two people to have lunch but didn’t enjoy but you argued the point with me anyway’ just say you’re terribly sorry and would have happily moved us if we had flagged it, we hope you will be back in future for a more comfortable meal. Needless to say, despite being a local we won’t be back.
Great food, lovely location and quick service. Would recommend happily
Lovely staff, delicious food, wonderful wines. Thank you very much!
It was very noisy especially from the bar and stuff handling cutleries . Food was very dry, tasteless over cooked burger . Pudding was even worst sticky toffee brownie extremely sweet even the ice cream won’t help. Decently the worst pub food we have ever had .
Atmosphere is always busy. Staff are well trained. Food always consistent above average.
Lovely pub great staff, good food and wine choices - would go back again!!
Very pleasant experience. Group very happy with food and service. Live locally but thought just pub grub and never thought about coming will be regular from now on!!
Very enjoyable Sunday lunch. Child friendly and very good service.
Lovely local restaurant that we frequent. Food is always reliable and always friendly staff.
It looks like a small pub when you go in but the dining area winds round into lots of cosy tables, including a mezzanine (where we were). The food was delicious and the ambience lovely. Would recommend.
Not an extensive menu but it was Sunday with Sunday lunch options.
always enjoyed the pub but never knew the food was that good. it was nice to be able to try it with the 50% discount
