The Arena Club and Sports Bar

Part homely Indian eatery and part boisterous bar, The Arena Club and Sports Bar is not quite like anything else in this part of greater London. As the name suggests, there are huge screens showing all important live sporting events, with a fully stocked bar there to keep hydration levels up. Look a bit further than its sleek bar and groovy decor, though, and you’ll see that this popular Central Circus spot is not just about the booze, doubling as one of Hendon’s tastiest Indian restaurants. The spread of choices is massive, from small bites perfect for sharing over a pint like masala cashew nuts, tandoori chicken wings and lamb samosas, to full-blown meat, seafood and vegetarian curry mains, as well as refreshing desserts and even some Indian-Chinese specialties (the mushrooms stir-fried in Szechuan sauce are particularly recommended). It’s a spacious place, and with that kind of spread of food and drink choices it’s ideal for group functions, as long as you book well ahead.
