Better than expected. Food enjoyable., more people in this time so more of an atmosphere however, the child behind me making screaming noises occasionally that went right through me, that spoilt it.

About a year since we last visited the beehive, lovely food, good ambience and service. A couple of items not available from the published menu but this didn't detract from the evening.

Booked the Behive specifically to my elderly mother and two friends for a Christmas dinner. The set menu on the web site looked exactly what we wanted. When we arrived we were taken to our table and given the normal lunch menu. When I asked for the Christmas menu I was told this had to be pre booked!! There is no mention of this on the web site. We had to make do with the normal lunch menu, which but a bit of a downer on the occasion. When paying the bill I was asked if everything was OK to which I pointed out my disappointment, the girl tried to explain their reasoning about having a lot of waste last year. However if the Christmas menu had to be pre booked it ought to be made more clear. The waitress service was slow which didn't help. Will I return? Doubtful

This is the third time we have visited this location for a meal. This occasion we were a party of 6. The food and service were outstanding as usual. The steak pie is excellent with plenty of lean beef and the sea bass is the tastiest that I have ever had. I would fully recommend this restaurant.

Good food, but restaurant was lacking in ambience. One of the bar staff was very unhelpful and too busy drinking their own coffee to serve our drinks. The younger waitress was very friendly and running around after a bigger party.

Great choice menu - traditional pub choices, and a mix of other dishes. Good service and understood gluten free and offered many options. Great evening, worth finding

Selected this inn after researching the internet before we travelled-up from the south. Warm welcome from the staff, good modern decor and excellent food made it a good choice !

Enjoyed our Sunday meal with friends. Was pleased that there was a choice of pink or cooked beef as we all like it rare. Desserts were beautifully presented and delicious and we were provided with more toffee sauce when we requested it.

It was a pity there were not more people to give a better atmosphere. Food was great this time. At times can be very inconsistent.

Rather topsy tervy- but it ended marvellously! We had raw beef and a moody waitress, followed by vegetables in our ice cream. But all was well in the end! The manager is the most customer service queen esque you will probably ever meet, she refunded two two-course meals, and took 25% of our entire bill. Plus understood that we were upset and needed something back from the bad experience. We WILL be returning because we KNOW that these people care about customers and their needs.

No atmosphere. No pictures on the walls only empty picture hooks. No coat rail. Limited choice on the menu. Not all items on the menu available. Food ok but nothing special. Service adequate. We have been before and had excellent meals and an enjoyable time but don't think we will be going back. Sorry to say it was very disappointing as we had gone for a special occasion.

Another excellent meal. The black pudding croquet was superb, and the only problem with the steak and ale pie was that it was so big, there was no room left for a dessert. P.s. the Black Sheep ale is excellent also.

Decent portions. Sunday lunch good, staff pleasant. The Sunday roast was plentiful with 2 veg and potatoes. I ordered the salmon and there was an approx 4oz of salmon and a minimal amount of very thinly sliced veg underneath. The sauce surrounding the salmon was too rich and I badly missed some plain boiled potatoes. I think that just because someone ordered the fish from the menu, they ought to be given a normal amount of vegetables to bring this plate up to a similar size of the Sunday roast. Staff may need better training. Our lady assistant didn't bring us the vanilla ice cream with the dessert. She didn't even mention it and walked away. When she passed by I asked if we could have the vanilla ice cream that we ordered and she simply said, " we ran out" and was walking away. I asked if they had any other flavour of ice cream and she said "she didn't know" and walked away. The correct response should have been to go back to the kitchen and see if they actually had any ice cream on the premises they could offer! However, we will visit again, not having been here for a couple of years but we heard it had changed management.

We were well looked after. The staff even welcomed my four month old granddaughter when her babysitter dropped out. The food was hot and tasty. A slight disappointment with the bruschetta, quite small and too many onions and not enough tomatoes. Quite expensive for what it was.

The wine and food were of good quality and quantity in general. Bar the sticky toffee pudding which was clap cold. We were told it was supposed to be hot sticky toffee pudding. We were still charged on the bill, but refused to pay for it. Bar that the service was very good. The biggest problem was it was freezing and I spent the evening with an overcoat on. There was a beautiful looking fire, but it was not on. In January!!?? The best thing about the evening was the Ainsty real ale. This was the finest pint I've had so far this year. Looking at how phenomenally popular the Stew & Oyster is in Boston Spa I wonder if The Beahive could make more of its bar area to attract more customers who may then eat in the restaurant.

Had a lovely meal with friends, the food was lovely. The only negative comment was that the salmon main course had very little vegetables and no potatoes, not enough for a man, the Sunday roasts were ample and plenty of veg.extra veg was brought when requested with no fuss. Although all the staff were young the service and attention was great, although no prescence of a manager? Will return in the new year.

A warm welcome from the host. Plenty to choose from on the menu whether you want a small snack or a full meal. Food was freshly cooked, hot, perfect small portion for me and large portion for my friend, well presented and very tasty. Will certainly go back again as the price was better than expected too....
