Lovely atmosphere, beautiful food and attentive staff. 10/10 thank you!

We waited a hour for food. Nobody in a hour came to tell us the delay. Nobody in the hour asked if we wanted more drinks. The food came, the beef was inedible and half of it was cold.

Staff were lovely, however service was very slow. Took almost an hour for food to be served, and afterwards overheard that only one chef was in, it would’ve been better to know this as we’ve arrived. The beef also was not great, said it was to be served medium rare however came out pretty much blue, and I asked for more well done, which was chewy and dry. The rest of the food we had was really nice other than the slow service and the beef

Staff very attentive, food was excellent had roast beef Sunday dinner , veg cooked well too. Beer good range and well kept .

This was the first time at the Black bull and certainly won't be our last. The Sunday roast was exceptional. Overall very good and a big thank you.

As always, the Black Bull is great - great food, good service at fair prices in a relaxed environment. Only two small bits of feedback. We ordered four pizzas for four of us, two came quickly and the second two were nearly 15 minutes later when the first two were nearly finished. We were the first guests in the place so this should not happen. Secondly, please, please, please invest in some steak/pizza knives! Trying to cut a pizza with a butter knife is near impossible! This would definitely not stop us coming back but these little details matter.

Lovely pub, clean, beer was good & the wine The steak sandwiches we had were fab, the only disappointment were the chips £6 for a ramekin dish, there weren’t 10 chips although they were good they weren’t worth over 60 pence a chip. Just being honest

We waited quite a while for 3 fishfinger sandwiches, a steak sandwich and poached egg on toast and I'm sorry to say, we were disappointed when it arrived. The bread wasnt the best and the sandwiches were average. Nothing accompanied them, not a touch of salad, coleslaw, chips. We felt it was quite expensive for what we had.

We had a really brilliant meal for six at the weekend to celebrate a birthday. All meals were beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Desert was an absolute winner - thanks for the hospitality

For the last 4 or 5 years we've eaten at the black bull and the food and service has always been good, however we had a family meal last night and the food and service was poor, very poor. The men choice was limited and not one of us commented how good the food was and at £50 a head it was also very expensive. We will not be going back.

Very tasty and hot food with an attentive and very pleasant waiter

We had been before for lunch several times and the food was really good with the choice of starters, mains and desserts. This time the menu was a big disappointment although the food was cooked really nicely. Only brunch or fish and chips and light bites. No desserts. The evening menu looked very good.

Excellent food and very reasonably priced too. Staff were efficient, polite and very helpful/courteous. The pub area and restaurant area were exceptionally clean and warm too.

Starter was tasty but took an hour to be served, main course taste was very acidic in the red cabbage and other veg, roast potatoes overcooked, turkey was tasty as was the sausage, desert was ok but overall would not recommend the Christmas dinner and the 2.5 hours taken to complete…sorry.

The breakfast is amazing the best full English that I have had for a long time. Would definitely recommend a visit

It was our first time visiting The Black Bull. They had gluten free options available so make sure you check with the waiting staff as they can adapt menu options for you. The food really was delicious and I can see why they are award winning. The restaurant was nice but it could do with a bit more decor as it was sparce and could be made much cosier. I’m not sure if they’d just cleared away the Halloween decorations. We live locally so will definitely be back and will recommend to all our GF family and friends.

We had the pizza specials and they were delicious. The pizza bases are really nice and crisp, not soggy in the middle like some local rustic places. Lovely pub, best around. Helpful, welcoming and friendly staff. Thank you!

A lovely pub to meet up with friends, great food and fabulous service.

Initially I was a little stumped as the menu online is not what was available on the day. And for someone who likes to know what options are available to me before I go this threw me off. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the food and they were kind enough to do me a side salad even though this was not on the options. I have to say, this was the tastiest salad I have ever eaten out. The food tasted fresh and was packed full of character in every dish. Everything tasted homemade and the service was fantastic. Friendly waitress who ensured we had everything we needed.

The meals were lovely and the staff attentive. However, we were disappointed to discover that their website is inaccurate. We reserved this restaurant because the website said that it still served meals from its pub classic menu on Sundays. This isn’t the case. One of our party has a dairy allergy and the restaurant could only offer a portion of mango sorbet (their last) for pudding. We had booked stating that one of the party was allergic to diary and I telephoned the restaurant well in advance so this was disappointing. We went to another restaurant for our desserts.
