The Boathouse is a quirky and very pretty place to enjoy quality tapas and drinks. Right on Waterside in Upton-upon-Severn, it overlooks the River Severn and serves breakfast and coffee in the morning, followed by Mediterranean- and British-style tapas for the rest of the day. The nature of tapas of course requires sharing, making The Boathouse a very popular spot indeed for casual yet elegant dining, regardless of the occasion. It’s a wonderful spot for taking the edge off and happily watching the hours roll away. The wine list is extensive and the beers are cold so, really, what more could one ask for?
Gem of a place with a great ambience and location overlooking the river. Tapas choice was superb and served swiftly, and amongst the best we have enjoyed. Well priced with good, relaxed and engaging staf
We sat on the balcony overlooking the river as it was a beautiful evening. Good selection of tapas. Would definitely go again. We had booked in advance as it was Bank Holiday weekend but they didn't seem to have our reservation. They did manage to squeeze us in,but we would have been disappointed if we hadn't been able to get in.
Good selection of food and interesting menu options. V tasty food. Friendly and efficient service and a nice atmosphere. Interesting wine list. All together a delightful experience
Brilliant place to eat! Great variety of food and lovely helpful staff. Sat on the river Severn front, it’s great for all occasions, all weather and is available for private hire as well.
The food was very good and the service was excellent. I really like the place and look forward to visiting in the light so I can enjoy the view. Also look forward to trying other dishes on the menu - I'm vegetarian and my partner isn't so it will be nice to come with fellow vegetarians so we can share everything. The only thing I wasn't happy about was the very loud people drinking cocktails on the table next to us. They were so loud it was hard to hear each other (just two of us!) Obviously not the restaurants fault, but maybe someone could have had a word as they were disturbing a lot of people.
From start to finish this place was, so good. We were welcomed by staff not rushed to order...everything was explained to us all about the tapas menu. All cooked fresh and piping hot when served to table. Then after there was a band on which finished off the night so well. Definitely going back and can't wait..think I will becoming a regular here.
Food is good with a wide selection. Freshly prepared means it’s all hot. We had good, cheerful and attentive service. The surroundings are clean with rustic decor although the old school chairs would benefit from cushions. It is well worth a visit. We will be going back!
As with all our previous visits, we experienced a warm welcome, delicious food, and attentive friendly service. There are some fabulous additions to the new menu and the goats cheese crouton is yummy. Oh, and there are over 50 gin varieties to choose from :-)
Our first visit and not disappointed very friendly and helpful staff - the menu was well explained and if you love tapas you will love the selection offered. The food was well presented and great flavours. Will definitely be returning in the near future.
Lunch was Lovely food and very good service. We couldn't go upstairs which was disappointing as that's where the lovely views of the Severn are, as there was to be a corporate event upstairs. However we never saw them and we left at 2.15 so it would have been ok for us to sit upstairs.
