About The Boot Room
Housed in a former shoe factory, The Boot Room showcases some of the finest modern British cooking in Leicester. This is a charming eatery that’s been recommended in The Michelin Guide every year since 2011 - a serious achievement. The menu is well thought out and boasts sophistication at every course. Perhaps scallops with crispy pork belly and pea puree to start, then lemon and thyme flavoured chicken leg with baby vegetables and beetroot and goat’s cheese beignets. For dessert, why not see what the souffle of the day is? Such a wonderful a la carte is, of course, prepared using the freshest, local ingredients but served to diners at prices that are competitive. In the heart of the city on Millstone Lane, The Boot Room is a short stroll from the historic burial site of King Richard III and is a restaurant you cannot miss. Reserve a table now.

Interesting building, really like the lights hanging from the conduit! Great service, not too pushy but very welcoming and attentive waiter. Menu was good, great wine as expected, and not over priced. Great start to an evening out in Leicester
nice relaxed atmosphere. food was excellent, great selection & good sized serving, waiting staff very pleasant & keen to please! the dessert was exceptional (shared the taster platter) overall my party found it very enjoyable.
The food is always excellent at the Boot Room and the food is always hot and service friendly. The staff are efficient and we would recommend eating there.
Lovely food and very good service from the staff. I love the building and the atmosphere at the Boot Room, and there is something for everyone on the menu. I had sea bass which was cooked to perfection and my family also commented on how good the food was. We will definitely go back again.
The service and ambience at The Boot Room were good but unfortunately we all felt (our party of 9 people) that the food was a bit disappointing. The starter portions were very small eg the halloumi with a chilli dip is just 4 match stick size pieces of halloumi and a sharing platter for two was just enough for one and comprised too much of the same thing ie., pot of olives, pot of tapenade - same thing really. Two people had steak and both commented they were very tough and gave them jaw ache and the total cost of the meal seemed very expensive at £40 per head (4 out 9 were not drinking alcohol either). Shame as one of the guests had been before and said he'd had a very good experience and so was even more disappointed. Maybe our evening was not the 'norm' but we all hope that The Boot Room is not letting its previous standards slip.
Interesting setting in old factory, which kept some of the character, yet now a very pleasant restaurant. Very helpful staff, as we needed to leave promptly for the theatre, so ensured we were able to order in good time and all served very efficiently. Perhaps slightly pricey but the food in general was very good.
Food and service very good. We used a Travelzoo offer which was excellent value, but normal prices are rather expensive. It was very cold in the restaurant (they had just re-opened after a few days break). The staff moved us, but it wasn't any warmer. However, we were not charged for supplements and side dishes as recompense.
Lovely meal. Catered for gluten intolerance alsonwhich was a bonus. Would book a meal there again. Only negative was it was not overly warm in there but they had just opened.
We have dined here previously and thoroughly enjoyed it, but quite disappointed with the quality of the food on this occasion. My husbands duck (served pink), was almost raw with non crisp/fatty skin and my fillet (served pink) was so well done it was almost cremated, plus it was supposed to be served with chunky chips yet I'm almost certain these were just frozen chips as they were so uniform and thin (not chunky) and totally tasteless. For almost £90 it was all very underwhelming and we won't be dining there again
Lovely warm reception and overall great evening, Manish is a great host and always has a chat. Our food was really good and we came away happy.
We went to the Boot Room to celebrate my fiancé's birthday. We thought that both the food and service were very good. It was also good value for money.
Good menu, reasonably priced. Food was tasty (but portions a bit big) and service was friendly. Unfortunately the ambiance was a bit disappointing; pretty quiet for a Saturday evening and all empty by 10.30.
The Food was great, the service was great. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed. We didn't have to wait too long between courses. Overall good experience
Tasty food not bad prices for city. Great location and great atmosphere service was great and staff was quite friendly. Liked the mirrors on the wall
Fresh ingredients but far too expensive for what was basic food that i could easily have prepared myself at home. Pleasant surroundings and attentive host/waiter.
