Found on Black Lion Lane, five minutes from Stamford Brook Station, The Carpenters Arms is a quintessentially British gastropub with buckets of charm, with its stylish yet traditional decor and a courtyard garden, the perfect place for a pint on a sunny day. The menu changes regularly but boasts a number British classics, sometimes with a Mediterranean twist, all cooked from scratch using the best, local produce. For lunch or dinner in London’s Chiswick area, The Carpenters Arms is a popular choice with its cosy setting, refined British dishes and hefty selection of craft beers – remember to book in advance in order to guarantee a table.
excellent food, friendly and effficient service sums it up so I don't really need to say any more thank you very much indeed bye bye
A delicious meal in delightful surroundings, really pretty garden, served by very pleasant staff. What more could you ask for on a Friday night. Thanks.
I have been here a few times, the food is always good, great atmosphere and generally efficient and friendly service. The clearing of finished dishes was a little slow this time and dessert was served when there were still rains from the main on the table but it was rectified as soon as we pointed it out. The spicy Bloody Mary was very good too!
Nice open fire place with some good pub food. The environment has a cozy feeling. We really enjoyed it! Will definitely visit again some day.
Overall an excellent experience. From table reservation at Quandoo to leaving the restaurant, we managed to avoid any issues that can come up when trying to get four busy adults and their teenage children together. I was very cheered that Quandoo got a positive response from the restaurant immediately. To be honest I had also tried reserving at a couple of other pubs nearby but none confirmed until the morning of our gathering and then only one. I thought this was quite telling. The Carpenters Arms have a shortish menu for Sunday lunch with healthy and vegetarian options that were delicious. That's not to say they didn't have carefully prepared and yummy meat options too. They broad bean hummus, sea bream and steak deserve special mentions. Prices were not too astronomical and I thought we got good value for money. The young waitresses were keen, helpful and charming and were kept in their toes by the publican who kept a hands on and cheerful eye on proceedings. My only quibble would be that they were so busy we had to remind the waitresses about our drinks a couple of times. Recommended.
Lovely relaxed beer garden. Good selection on menu; grilled prawns were amazing. Pinot Grigio rose wine really good. Service was attentive. Fabulous night for 5 ladies who will definitely be back!
The setting is lovely in the garden but unfortunately staff not well trained and a bit surly and the food was poor. When we asked for dessert we were told the kitchen was too busy and it would take an hour. It has really gone downhill which is a real shame.
