Found on Black Lion Lane, five minutes from Stamford Brook Station, The Carpenters Arms is a quintessentially British gastropub with buckets of charm, with its stylish yet traditional decor and a courtyard garden, the perfect place for a pint on a sunny day. The menu changes regularly but boasts a number British classics, sometimes with a Mediterranean twist, all cooked from scratch using the best, local produce. For lunch or dinner in London’s Hammersmith area, The Carpenters Arms is a popular choice with its cosy setting, refined British dishes and hefty selection of craft beers – remember to book in advance in order to guarantee a table.
The pub itself is super lovely. Few things let it down. The food was not up to scratch... the parpadelle pasta was dry and didn’t have enough flavour... the pear desert was left untouched as it was full of syrupy sugar and subsequently taken off the bill. There was a terribly behaved dog that was allowed to stay inside and bark for a full 30min. It was so bad and distracting I almost left. Nobody did anything about it despite complaints . The dog was put out in the garden where it barked even louder. Upon closing we were asked for Last orders which we took and then had no time to drink Them. The pub lights were turned off and music stopped making it very embarrassing to sit there with a drink. Not a great end.
very nice and cosy pub, where families and usuals clients gather. The food is really nice, some flavours of association are unexpected and work brilliantly. The staff is very attentive and go above and beyond.
