We were a group of 8 having dinner after a 7 mile walk. The pub was warm and welcoming, the barman very attentive, the Landlord entertaing and the food was delicious. We would all recommend the Carpenters Arms as a hidden gem.

This was Folk Night and Zoe Wren was tonight's singer - she did a great job. The food was as good as ever with a wide choice, whatever your taste.

Landlord very friendly and dogs allowed in the pub. Reserved a table for Sunday lunch and was glad I did as the pub was very busy. Food came in good time although landlady seemed a little stressed. Had a lovely roast chicken dinner. All veg was excellent and they also provided a gluten free meal for me. On top of that, gluten free desserts were available. Left feeling really satisfied!

Lunch yesterday at the Carpenters Arms restored my faith in Cotswold country’s pubs. Really Great tasting fresh food, beautifully cooked, pleasant service and genuine nice country pub atmosphere with log fires - Just perfect. And great value too. A.very rare but welcome combination. Thank You.

We're already biased as we are regulars, but we can always rely on the Carpenter's Arms to provide an excellent service and menu, even for London metros who think they've had it all. Varied menu, with excellent choice of meat and vegetarian dishes, at competitive prices. The atmosphere is welcoming, with a sophisticated mix of rustic, townie, professional and tourist. Thoroughly recommend, although one wouldn't wish to make the place too popular.

The pub was cold and we were seated as far away from the fire as possible although the pub was more than half empty. Have had much nicer meals at the Carps, the lamb stew comprised of a bowl of meat with gravy no vegetables as you would expect. Very disappointed after previous meals have been good.

First time in the Carpenters Arms, we were greeted straight away by a young gentleman behind the bar who served us our drinks and told us which table we were on and explained the menu which was a board menu on the wall. The food was very good the service and atmosphere too. The landlord had just started up an open mic evening which he himself took part in. Just as we were leaving he caught up with us to say good night which was a nice gesture, we will definitely be going back.
