Np parking, food poor both in value and taste, had two small fish gougions mostly batter, overall unsatisfactory, would not consider using again in future.

when we went there was lots of vegan options which was excellent for the picky eaters! sadly I believe their vegan chef has left the pub so less vegan options. haven't been since I heard this so hope to be proved wrong!

We were looking forward to going to the castle but received a text as we were about to set off to say that the kitchen was closed until further notice.

The Castle Inn is amazing for vegans and vegetarians. There is a fantastic range of options available, all of which are delicious- I think by this stage I’ve tried all the vegan options but my favourite has to be the tofish and chips! The staff are helpful and friendly and the pub itself is cosy and homely.

Everything spot on except for sticky tables. Staff more than helpful and good food. Christmas music needs reviewing but overall a pleasant experience. Merry Christmas

Me & my partner travelled 20miles and we were very impressed! Fab vegan food & great service! Massive portions too. Can’t wait to try pudding next time 😍 I would def recommend.

Great feel and atmosphere to the place. Excellent vegan food and generous portions. Can especially recommend the tofish and chips if you have become vegan and miss the taste of fish and chips, very fishy taste.

Good welcoming staff but disappointing food. My Vegan Fish & Chips were greasy and tasteless, my partners Steak Pie was dry and uninteresting. Not surprised the place was quiet on Sunday Lunchtime. We won't be eating there again.

The service was ok the food was average and I dont think I would go back. The portions were generous but let down by food quality sadly.

Amazing vegan selection, big portion sizes, delicious food and friendly attentive service, cannot express enough how fantastic it was! Will definitely be returning time and time again :)

Excellent service. We felt looked after. we had a toddler and a dog with us so not easy to eat out in most places. Lovely vegan food options.

This is a really nice pub with lovely food and drink, reasonable prices and beautiful location right next to the castle. Would definitely recommend. Great service.

Appaling service qaited an hour for starters and a further hakf hour for mains Vegan food poor in my opinion will not be returning again

Would like to go back when it is not so busy. Even the simple starters took a very long time to appear. Was very nice when it did though. My daughters first choice not available. Then her first choice of main course was not available. The blueberry cheesecake was quite tasteless and still mostly frozen. Great to see so many Vegan choices.

Food was good. We went to try the vegan menu and weren't disappointed. Service was good but the waiter didn't come back to take our dessert order.

Great meal and service, we go for the Vegan menu, which is pretty astonishing. Just a word of warning - if you are going for the amazing Vegan 'To-Fish' and Chips, which is the best fish and chips I've had ever, vegan, vegetarian or carniverous, either go early, or give them a ring to pre-book your actual meal. We arrived at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon and they'd sold out of the To-Fish. Sob. I'm sure it's not the same everyday, but on busy summer weekends, it will be worth it!

Lovely pub in skipton. As a vegan I couldn't be happier, a fabulous menu with so much choice, generous portions and proper pub grub (vegan style) - delicious and filling and a good hearty plate of food. Lovely service, friendly and attentive. My friends ate of the regular menu and thought it was lovely too, they had a roast dinner with all the trimmings and thoroughly enjoyed it. Will definitely be back again on our next trip to Yorkshire!

Great food, big portions too! Went with a friend who is vegan and there was a big variety of choices for her, which was nice for her as most places only have 1 choice of vegan meals.

We ordered from the Vegan menu, food took around 40-45 minutes to come out. The Tofish and chips was excellent, very much like the real thing. The 'Pulled Pork' and Falafel burger was OK, the falafel wasn't cooked properly and was still doughy, no breadcrumbs to give it that crips to it. The Cheezecake had a base with dates I think, it wasn't very nice at all, the ice cream was excellent, loved it. The waitress who served us was brilliant and offered us another desert when we told her we didn't like the cheezecake which was very nice of her. One thing that put me off was the fact the pub was dog friendly, and there were people with 2 dogs next to us, the dogs jumped up them a few times and the thought of dog hairs and germs flying around isn't something that I would consider acceptable. Would I go back? I would like to try more food off the menu definitley, but having dogs there makes me not want to.

very friendly and helpful waitresses. Delicious vegetarian food with loads of choices. Perhaps a wider wine list with with more options would be a good idea.

The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The pub itself has a great atmosphere with a number of interesting features. I would happily go there again

There was a good choice of food on the vegan menu, the food was delicious and the waitress service was very good. If you're vegan and looking for good quality pub food then you would enjoy the Castle Inn. I and my friends highly recommend it.

AMAZING Vegan menu in a wonderfully traditional pub. The staff were really friendly and the tofish and chips was so yummy and realistic. Highly recommended

Reception, service, quality of homecooking and the choice and condition of real ale were all first-class! My only reason for not awarding 6 and excellent is that some of the tables are too narrow to accommodate 4 people comfortably as the table mats overlap the edges of the tables when 4 people are dining around 1 table. Otherwise, Mine Host, Calvin, ticks all the boxes and get everything right. The best food & beer in Skipton!

Excellent and imaginative range of choice for vegans as well as omnivores, friendly staff and good atmosphere. We will certainly dine there again and recommend to others.

Booking system worked perfectly. Warm welcome and accommodating of dog. Food lovely and lots of choice for Vegan - a primary choice for our visit to Skipton. Same again tonight.

We went with our daughter who is Vegan and we all had great food in a great place with great staff we will be back again soon.

Bit worried when we got there I had booked for 8pm and they had us down for 7pm but fortunate they still had a free table. Food was good very large portions though. Great Vegan menu.

We had a lovely meal at the Castle recently. The service was friendly and quick, the food was very good, and there was a great atmosphere in the pub. We would definitely visit again.

Unfortunately at last minute had to cancel but will definitely book as we have heard great reports. With veggie daughter and vegan grandson the new vegan menu means we can all eat out as a family - great for next celebration.

Fantastic experience. The newly introduced vegan menu is awesome, brilliant food and choice & lovely friendly staff. Will definitely revisit even though we don't live in Skipton, it is worth the drive.

Very disappointed with the Castle, we ordered 3 Sunday lunches, 2 x lamb and 1 x beef. The food was poor, one of the lamb meals was cold and had to be re heated ( not a fresh one I must point out ) , the other one had what I can only describe as minuscule amount of lamb and was also returned. When they arrived back the " crispy goose fat " roast potatoes were completely not that, one of the meals had no roast and the other had what can only be described as a roast from last Sunday on it, we complained again but having already waited nearly 50 minutes couldn't be bothered waiting again. Certainly won't be returning

We booked a table for the 3 of us our son is 9 months old all though there were no baby changing facilities they directed us to a quite corner we could use to change him. The staff were really welcoming. And the home cooked food was delicious

Fantastic pub we had travelled 40 miles due to extensive vegan menu ...but the oven was broken..but still good options and the falafel and pulled Jack fruit was amazing ..would have been a 6+ if full menu was on ..oh vegan pud blown away we will be back..fantastic staff really helpful and upset about the menu x

The Castle provided a delicious and hearty vegan food menu for "Veganuary". We had a butternut and spinach lasagne, and a hazelnut and mushroom stew. The service was friendly and efficient and the pub atmosphere lively with a good vibe.

Food was lovely, pub was cosy and comfortable, a delightful place to sit and have a meal after wandering around the beautiful town of Skipton
