About The Chestnut Horse

The Chestnut Horse Easton is about as charming a British country pub as you could wish to find. On Easton Lane as you head out from Winchester, it’s a gorgeous white building with a cosy interior and, in the summer, some very green surrounds. The kitchen at The Chestnut Horse strives to make use of as much local produce as possible and so the menus do vary according to what’s available and in season. Whatever the case, rest assured of true British pub food done with aplomb, where each dish is just as beautiful to look at as it is to taste. This is one of those pub restaurants where you’ll want to sit for hours on end and just relax. Be sure to make a reservation before you go.

Fabulous cuisine with everything prepared and cooked to perfection. We have not had such high quality in a while. Lovely, relaxed ambiance and friendly service too.

Wonderful food, the libster bisque was delicious , the herring roe was fantastic and the buffalo burgers , rated one of the best my guest had ever had. Great atmosphere, friendly and helpful waiting staff. Chestnut horse wins again.

Very pleasant pub, good and helpful service, with excellent food. We had drinks before lunch in the garden, our third visit, there will be more.

Great food, great service - but unfortunately the guests next to us, in the restaurant, were permitted to bring a large dog into the room. It periodically got in the way of the staff waiting on, and for the two of us closest to the dog, we could smell it... I don't believe that dogs should be allowed into your, or any other, restaurant. Really good food with quick service. They have a nice cosy bar area with an open fire plus a Resaurant area for when they are busy. Parking is easy with a tarmac car park. All in all a great village pub with food
