The Church Inn

Good greeting and service throughout, good choice of ales and wines. Food, a Sunday lunch, was reasonably priced, meat and potatoes were hot, but all other vegetables were cold. We pointed this out and fair play, they applied a good discount. I'd go back for a pint but not to eat.

we waited almost an hour for a sunday lunch when there was barely anyone in the pub. They had ran out of the chicken option (which was supposed to be boneless - when it eventually arrived it was not) and also did not have any pigs in blankets. there was no apology from the staff even when we chased up where our food was, and although the food was nice enough when it finally got to our table, i was left feeling like i should have just cooked at home and saved myself £60 on the four meals and two rounds of drinks. won't be going back in a hurry.

We arrived a little early but no problem. In fact not certain we needed to book. The menu offered something for everyone but when we went to order we were told there were no pizzas. So made me wonder if these are just bought in and none had been delivered? There was no mint so again we couldn’t have a Mai Tai Not a major problem but just another example of things not being available. We had to wait quite a long time for our food at least an hour. Which was a bit frustrating as we were going to the theatre opposite & had given ourselves lots of time. The food when it arrived was ok. The staff were pleasant but seemed a bit hassled. Overall not as good as it has been in the past

Menu change to very basic menu and kitchen closes at 8pm!

No pizzas left and full of drunks! Food we did order was ok but missed one of the plates which came about 20 mins later!
