Was surprised at how big place is, as there is a bit out back with more seating. Good guidance from staff on how much to order. Loved the black belly pork and prawns. Would go back again Only downside was we ordered a certain wine but they gave us a different one without telling us. So I queried and they said they didn’t have the wine we ordered, and apologised for not telling us and just giving us another wine.

We ate some of the best food weve ever eaten. So many vegan options too. The dishes were served as and when they were ready, hot and so flavoursome. Would definitely return.

We loved it. Very friendly staff, delicious food and island vibe. Acoustics not great. As the evening got busier, it did get noisier and we found it hard to hear ourselves.

Visited Coconut Island Brighton this past Saturday with my partner for an early Valentine's meal. The food was exceptional, and the server was incredibly helpful in guiding us through the dishes and drinks on the menu. We enjoyed a fantastic spread of dishes and a great cocktail each. The restaurant's decor is beautifully done, adding to the ambiance perfectly.

We were very concerned that there were no fire exit signs - also there seemed no open emergency exits from the rear room. We were particularly concerned that ignited drinks were being served in what seemed an unsafe premises.

Extremely disappointing after reading so many good reviews - the food took an hour to come and the service was very poor. Staff were rude and brought an item to our table that we had specifically taken off our order due to a severe allergy - slammed it down with the rest of the food and went “I have literally no idea what that is” before walking off. Had to find someone else to ask what it was and ask for it to be taken away. Some of the food was cold and it was expensive for the quality of food and service we received. Really wanted to love it here but unfortunately due to the poor attitude of the staff and the lack of consideration of very basic allergy requirements we will not be coming back.

Could have been warmer in temperature and the goat curry could have been less fatty, 50/50 BUT a lovely taste and very welcoming

Really Great food and friendly service. I ordered the clay pot fish which came in a small bowl. So not a clay pot. We had to wait half an hour after seating down to order. But the food came out quickly. There was creepy bloke called Keith who kept videoing us on his phone without asking. Definitely not welcome. The loos are gender neutral and dirty, wee all over the floor. Yuk. So the staff need to be a bit more attentive to service, ordering, table clearance and check the loos are ok for women to use. But I would definitely recommend it and ask about everything on the menu as the staff were really good at explaining it.
