Friendly and attentive staff. Good atmosphere, good food. A couple of minor quibbles. Long wait for coffee. Noise level too high for those reliant on hearing aids.
A lovely restaurant with plenty of natural light. Dog friendly, which is a huge plus for us. Staff are friendly and efficient. My busband’s food intolerance was well catered for. The food was delicious and well presented. Would definitely recommend and shall be returning.
Great Sunday Lunch, Lovely Atmosphere, Lovely Locally Sourced produce, we have booked for another occasion next week, service was very Good what more can I say.
Lovely restaurant with a really friendly atmosphere. Food was very well presented the piccalilli really complemented the hock. Fish was lovely and fresh. The lemon tarted was just right not too sweet and not tart, so had a really enjoyable lunch.
Very enjoyable meal good service will be visiting again I had the turkey which was lovely my husband had the beef and said it was cooked to perfection.
Food was great , service lovely on a vert busy night .Only spoilt by an exceptionally loud boom boom from a 21 st Birthdaypart in the adjacent part of the restaurant
Amazing Sunday Lunch and Great Service I will be visiting again very soon. Great choice of Menu, the Beef was slightly rare but so soft, veg amazing.
Really nice place, great service, excellent food and nice vibe :) we would certainly recommend The Courtyard to anyone looking for a good night out in Deal
This restaurant is a joy, the food is great and the service is friendly and efficient, the surroundings are both comfortable and pleasing, I would recommend it to friends and family
Skate dish was delish and I even asked an extra side which was accommodated. Service was very good indeed. Would definitely recommend! Oysters were very good too.
Good quality food and pleasant service. The restaurant is a lot nicer since it has been refurbished and the wrought iron tables have been removed.
Fab staff great customer service, fab food fresh and tasty, great lunchtime menu and price and lovely surroundings! Family friendly accommodating 2 prams and a highchair
Had been to The Courtyard regularly when Mike and Lesley were there and always wanted to go back. We didn't return after they left and only went back last week after seeing e-mail from latest owner. We ate with new friends who also hadn't been there for years. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. Lovely friendly welcome, excellent waitress service with such wonderful smiles and even time to speak. By co-incidence live piano music that night was an unexpected bonus. Food and surroundings were relaxing and amply wine flowed throughout the evening. We all had different dishes which were heartily enjoyed. It was (almost) a pleasure to pay and very good value for money. We will certainly return and hopefully repeat the experience Well done to all involved and other Deal restaurants need to watch out. Why not "6" in this review …….because I think 1 to 5 is enough of a measure
A very enjoyable evening. The food was very good and the service was excellent. I would be very pleased to recommend the Courtyardto my friends
Varied menu , something for everyone, good sized portions, service very good, lovely atmosphere and surroundings. You won't be disappointed could not fault this place.
Lovely meal with friends. The restaurant is beautiful and clean the service is attentive but not intrusive. Well priced and very tasty, we will be back.
Attentive service, succulent food, great flavours, good value too! Will be back very soon we’re sure. Happy 25th wedding anniversary! Thanks to all the staff for helping us enjoy a great evening.
The food was lovely nice and hot, staff were very pleasant the only thing was the wait and a couple of times we had to remind them of drinks not received, but overall would I go back Yes because anything worth having is worth waiting for.
Excellent Food and Great Atmosphere. Will defo go back. The boys have really made a go of it, it’s not had the atmosphere like that for years.
First class service with a wide selection of dishes to cater for every palet accompanied by reasonable priced wine list and warm friendly atmosphere would recommend
Met a friend for Lunch which was the second time at The Courtyard We had Fish pie and the lasagne. The portions were good and food very tasty Chocolate brownie desert sumptuous and large cup of coffee £12 a head (excluding coffee) Very good value
WE thoroughly enjoyed our meal, the service was a little slow, but that was fine we understood there was a birthday party of some 40 people there. We will certainly be going back.
Me and patner wanted to go for a late lunch at 2.45pm. We where pleased that they could serve us at that time. When we arrived the staff was very welcoming. Service was good. The food is good. I would definitely recommend.
We had a reservation as I had seen on line a delicious selection of sea food. We were given a lunch time menu which hardly any sea food on offer. So we left! We went to Deal from London on a day trip, so we’re were disappointed. However we found an alternative sea food restaurant.
Not an Oyster Bar anymore, but the restaurant and food was lovely. I did get some oysters, only one type on offer. They were the biggest oysters I have ever had @ £2 each.
Poor. It took 15 minutes for someone to bring menus and take a drinks order. The starters were fine but the main courses were awful. I am sue my paella came put of a frozen packet and hado a horrible gravy consistency. Very mushy. My daughters steak was tough and overcookeducation. She ordered rare and it was well done. Sincerely doubt it was sirloin at all. We didn' bother with puds and left as soon as possible.
The service and food was all excellent apart from the deserts: taking ober 30 mins to come out and the cremebrulee which was sadly not set but after I mentioned this to the waiter he sorted it with shots. I've been here quite a few times and each time the atmosphere and service has been amazing!
Hot day but a lovely lunch with the roof open until it rained ! My parents enjoyed themselves too . Thank you . Will be back again soon.
Enjoyed the ambience ,and the casual comfortable feel of the restaurant. Particularly enjoyed the strawberry margarita cocktail, the barman made for me by request..friendly and inviting. Would be happy to return to...
Very good restaurant! We had a Lovely family lunch. It was comfortable and reasonably priced. Food really nice. Service was good.... will definitely go again....
I had intended to book dinner for my husband and I on Saturday 28 July. We turned up at the Courtyard only to find there was a private function. The manager Tony apologised and even offered us a drink. When checking the email from you I realised the booking was for the 27th ! My fault for not checking 😧. We'll try again!
Rubbish expensive menu that looks like its never updated. Presents itself as a seafood restaurant and there's very little seafood on the menu. Fish and chips is £17 - rediculous.
Another lovely evening - my wife and I were made to feel very welcome....the beer was excellent and my burger was delicious and the wife's chicken very tasty.
Lovely atmosphere, and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Great food, the black pudding scotch eggs are a winner. A lovely place to eat. Keep up the good work. Would definitely eat here again.
The food was lovely, service was ok but there was a party of 10 Americans that spoilt the experience as some of them were very loud.
Food was excellent and service of a high standard. Priced quite high but overall, good evening in pleasant surroundings. Would recommend and likely to return.
We had a really fantastic meal here with great staff and a good atmosphere. The roof was back as it was a hot summer night. Some drink may have been taken 😊
Excellent service, food and drinks throughout. Great atmosphere, staff attentive, always checking to see if you needed anything. Maybe time to change the menu. Will definitely return.
dreadful, service was appalling. waited 35 minutes just to get a menu. disorganised as chef and waitresses moving tables and clearing up (this 20 minutes after our expected table time!) sullen staff, booked as a birthday treat..we paid for our drinks and left....won't be back.
Lovely ambience and food cooked to perfection with excellent service.I would recommend this gem of an establishment. It had the added bonus of a live singing duo .
It was our first visit to the Courtyard and as we arrived for Sunday lunch my wife and I were pleasantly surprised by the decor and style of the main eating area, which was enhanced by a glass atrium that was drawn back in the centre allowing the sun to stream in and maintain a nice temperature and not feel you were sitting in a greenhouse. There was a set price menu for the Sunday with a reasonable selection of starters whilst the mains were mainly a variety of roast dinners, roast potatoes plus veg. The beers/lagers we drank were well kept and chilled. Prices were reasonable with two courses at £17.99 and three courses at £21.99. My only gripe was the feeling we were ignored once we were at our table and the main course took a while to appear ..... but having said that, the starters and mains that we had were excellent - a good example of what I would expect from a Sunday roast in a restaurant - hot, quality meat, tasty vegtables served with a quality gravy.... and good portions. We will definitely be returning and are looking forward to returning on an evening to try the main menu and perhaps sample at least some of the wine list....and a beer or two...
Lots of dishes were off the menu. The curry wasn’t spicy. Quite busy and good atmosphere. Think our waitress was still learning. Shame, normally better cooking than this.
We had a really lovely meal the staff are so friendly and helpful . The lunch time menu is fantastic value , we will definitely be going back x
Very disappointed with Sunday Lunch. Prawn cocktail starter had no taste, Chicken was chewy and the Pork Belly was more like a pork chop with no crackling.Yorkshire pudding was flat and under cooked, doughy in the middle. Cheese board had no Stilton and mushy grapes. Had to pay extra for the vegetables to go with the Sunday Lunch. Service was slow as they had some large parties in and struggled to cope.
The new owner has updated the restaurant in terms of comfort and atmosphere. The lunch menu is excellent and the staff extremely attentive. Highly recommended.
Lovely food, great surroundings and very courteous, helpful staff. Menu is very varied with lunchtime specials available, these include a free drink. What's not to like....
