The lunch at the Cowherds restaurant was very good. The service was very good. Also the food was great!!

My 2 friends and I all enjoyed the 40% deal - unexpected and much appreciated. There were two lots of celebrations going on opposite us ( noisy!) and I was disappointed not to have been given the table at the far end of the dining room (up a little step) but I arrived after my friends and they had evidently been shown to our corner table instead. My fillet steak (ribeye unavailable!) was perfect; my roasted tomatoes were perfect but my small bowl of chunky chips was disappointingly - well - small... I would have appreciated a few more of them. Overall, this was a very good meal but why are the cups of flat white coffee so much smaller than the cups of mocha? AND so expensive! My friend had the same steak meal as me and paid for that and for our 3 soft drinks; I paid for my own steak meal and paid for our 3 coffees (1 mocha, 1 decaff flat white and 1 white coffee and my bill was about £7 more than hers!

Service and food was great! Place feels so cozy too! Perfect for Sunday brunch.
