We went for a Sunday lunch which was excellent food and good value; arrived early and they still accommodated us. Excellent wine by the glass.

Another wonderful visit to the Crown Inn at Roecliffe. We always call in on our outward journey on holiday to the Yorkshire Dales or Northumberland. It has become the perfect start to our holiday. We had an excellent meal, the crab soup and fish pie were sublime. Excellent service too. We will definitely be calling in again soon!

Roecliff is a quaint little village just a short distance from the A1. The Crown Inn is a great pub and restaurant. The beer gardenia lovely and the restaurant food is superb. Great food, great environment and great service. Thank you.

Excellent food and service as always. Good choice of dishes using a lot of local ingredients, well presented by friendly staff. One of our favourite eating places.

Food was presented well 😊 Soufflé starter was stodgy and too much for a starter. Fish risotto was disappointing in that the 'extras' to the fish were limited, it was felt. The chicken and steak were very tasty 😋 and flavoursome. Staff were pleasant and attentive.

Having had several excellent lunches at the Crown we sampled a Saturday evening meal. The service was slow and staff appeared over stretched and inattentive. My lactose intolerant guest was told when he asked if the bread contained lactose that some gluten free bread would be brought. Twice, beers were mixed up and then one ran out. We were asked to "clear the table" by the waitress so that the " large" pork platters could be placed when they arrived. On providing feedback to the Crown I didn't get a response. What a shame when obviously it can be first rate.

Lovely food and great service. The pork, lamb and beef were all tried and all well liked. Puddings were crumble, meringue and a lemon trio - again all going down very well.

Always enjoy having a meal at the crown. Would like a wider variety of dessert types and an improved quality of coffee. Apart from these things - perfect.

I have been going to the crown for many years, for birthdays, with friends, school mums and family, I highly recommend it for any occasion a wonderful atmosphere and sensational food, I have always enjoyed my experience. I recently took my child and he loved the child menu choice and food too.

I was disappointed with my main, I chose the Monkfish and was dismayed to see how little I got and it had no flavour. But everything else was wonderful and we had a great evening.
