An excellent place to eat (lunch, in this case), with a brilliant menu of fish and seafood, whose quality, evidenced by my scallops and then mackerel, is first class. Portions slightly on the small side, ambience (wooden tables and view of the kitchen, with fish counter display in front of it) relaxed, but serious in its intent. Nice wine list and decent list of wines by the glass. Service excellent (I have never, till now, been asked if wanted to remove the service - which I was assured is paid to staff), facilities very good indeed. Well worth a detour.

Lovely restaurant but the chef doesn't know what he is doing. Ordered a medium rare fillet steak, it came out well done, sent that one back and the next one came out rare (the meat was actually cold inside), sent that one back and finally half an hour later a perfectly medium rare fillet steak came out. For £22, I would of expected a bit better but we got there in the end! The manager corrected the error by giving me a free drink. The staff were all lovely.

Gorgeous fish and I love their chips and salad. Carrot cake had a candle in honour of my fella's birthday - nice touch. Thank you.

The food and drinks are utterly amazing with a wide selection of dishes to choose from. The only thing that let this restaurant down was the feeling of being rushed through your meal, leaving you little time to enjoy it.

We had a great evening, lovely food . Really enjoyed the food and wine. The music was a little loud, and it was difficult to shout across the table. Otherwise fab.

Beautiful food and cocktails. Great service. Will definitely visit again soon. Had the salmon starter and sea bass for main. All fresh and very well prepared.

Amazing food, drink, service and ambience. Perfect for a special but relaxed meal. We had fillet steaks that were cooked to perfection and cocktails to die for. We'll be back...

Good service, delicious food, odd and awkward place to sit as we were so close to the people sitting opposite us... but other than that it was all good.

Great deal on oysters and champagne, quite possibly the best burger I've had! The atmosphere was lovely. Staff were great and will definitely be going back!

The restaurant was busy but pleasant. It was nice to see the open kitchen. Food was nice some things a bit pricey. Will go again.

Great food, great service and lovely feel to the place. Music was a tad loud when we arrived but they turned it down. Was also surprised to hear Michael McIntyre blasting through the toilet speakers! But lookin forward to going back and sampling some more fresh fish.

The food was inconsistent- some dishes flavoursome, some bland. Our main server was good and attentive, checking on us at all times. Initially they forgot we were celebrating a birthday but gave a free cocktail before we left. Would return to try lunch.

Decided to have 2 starters rather than a meal which included fresh fish, asparagus and mushrooms, all fresh and very tasty and staff were attentive

The ideal place for a post-holiday brunch with friends. Delicious food, relaxing atmosphere, great service and the best Bloody Marys around. Will definitely be back.

Evening was lovely especially espresso martinis but the chips have changed and no very nice and you now pay extra for them , before they were included with your main meal. Disappointed as I have been eating at Market place since it opened.

Great food and atmosphere. We loved it. A little pricey but worth it. Cocktails super. Some waiting staff seemed a little young and inexperienced, but no problems. Really recommend it and hope to return soon

As with our last visit, great food, dreadful service. Waited almost 50 minutes for food and music so loud you can't have a conversation. Shame, it looks great and the food is good, but the service and 'ambience' ruined our evening for a second time. Won't be going back.

The food and ambience were excellent. Only fault was that we were not offered vegetables which we thought were included. scollops were a bit tasteless.

Really great atmosphere and friendly staff. One issue is that they don't get the tip if you pay by card so if you have a lovely waiter/waitress give them a cash tip!

Excellent service, the carpaccio of salmon was wonderful, the goats cheese croquettes were great. My husband really enjoyed his seabass and our desserts were very tasty. I didn't give a full 6 rating because they had run out of Monkfish (and I had already decided that was what I wanted before we went!) and my grilled squid was fairly bland. It's a huge portion (I know you shouldn't complain amount too much food) but having so much meant that half way through it was rubbery and a bit tasteless (which can easily happen with squid). The grilled vege side was fairly bland too - just needed a bit of seasoning or something. But other than that, a really nice place to eat.

The food was tasty and fresh and at a reasonable price; service charge of 12.5% added which we paid but feel this should be descetionery.

Great atmosphere and attentive waiters. We all had fish. Lovely food and well presented but thought it was quite expensive and a 12.5% service charge was automatically included...I would have preferred to choose the tip myself.

The food was great, the service was very good and we had a lovely time. A very enjoyable experience, can't wait to go back. We asked for the sea bream to be filleted. It came a bit too dry as they had filleted it fist and then cooked it. It would be great if they cooked fish first then filleted it!

Good ambience and food. Asparagus starter not great, but manager took it off the bill after getting feedback. Wanted to order dessert, but got the bill instead!

Food very good would definitely be returning with more friends. It's a must to visit. I thought that having such an extensive menu would show on delivery of the food but I was wrong.

Nice restaurant, great atmosphere. Tempting fish display! In fact so tempting that is what we ordered. Only real disappointment to order such beautifully cooked fish, there was no fish knife offered, especially with sole! Service apart from that was pleasant. We will be back looking for the fish knife! Thanks for a lovely evening.

Good food in a popular area for eating. Fish was fresh, but our steaks could have been warmer when served. Limited but very good wine list, supported by large beer selection on tap.

Cocktails are always very tasty - I would recommend the Passion Fruit Martini and The Market Pie. Food is delicious and each dish is served with it's own unique sauce - I tried Monkfish for the first time and really enjoyed it.

Pleasant, attentive staff. Wasn't blown away by the food (especially the fact burgers aren't served on Saturday evenings) and found the menu a little overpriced. Modern decor and friendly staff make up for mediocre good.

I really love the food there, but a) £84 for two mains, a bottle of wine and some sides is pretty expensive, and b) what is the ppint of the music? I hate having to shout over the doof doof doof of a techno baseline to make myself heard!

Food was simple and tasty which let the quality of the ingredients shine through. However, had truffle fries without so much of a hint of truffle, cheesecake with a watery susbstance on top and thought that overall was a little overpriced. Also considering they made a point to tell me twice that we only had a two hour slot, service was not particularly prompt. It was a nice atmosphere though, with considerate staff and I would go back for some tasty fish.
