The Damn Yankee

We all loved it, one adult and four teenagers. A great family meal and helpful staff. Lovely atmosphere and the teenagers would definitely like to return. The bbq ribs were a big hit as were the burgers.

We Had the best time at damn Yankee, the waiter, Ben, was amazing he gave us the best customer service, cjrcled how our food was for us and even boxed up our left overs for us. Also compliments to Sol the chef, best food we have tasted in a while. Was worth the money and they deserved the tip. Would definitely recommend, we will be going back again no doubt.

Damn Yankee has been in Harrogate for a long long time always used to be so busy. We booked for 3pm on a Sunday we were the only people in the restaurant, you should bring the tastecard back, one couple left because you’ve stopped allowing it 😳 Food ok waitress very friendly and helpful.

Great selection of food and beers. There own spin on some great all American food. Good service. Well worth a visit if you’re feeling Hungry!

Went with my 2 daughters for a birthday meal, the service was excellent, 2 very friendly and helpful waitresses and we didn’t have to wait long for our food. The food was fresh and hot and good portion sizes. We would definitely return.

Very nice experience. Lovely food and good attentive service. Music slightly too loud as we were a party of five and had a lot of catching up.

No atmosphere but great food Tuesday night wasn’t busy so it’s a good night to go on a date but if you want atmosphere go on a peak night

Lovely small restaurant. Good cooked fresh but quite quickly. Staff very friendly and helpful. Reasonable priced too. Portions just right and plenty of choice to be had.

The staff are always polite and helpful. We had a Scooby Snack and Pizza (which are back after 30 years off the menu). Lovely evening and looking forward to our next visit.

Bad day for the restaurant, they were having trouble back of house with the food not being up to a high quality, however the manager was always honest and up front about it and kept us informed so I believe we just caught them on the wrong day to eat!! The food looked and sounded lovely on the menu!!

Great fun and atmosphere, lovely refurb and surroundings, great personal service with great advice and banter, delicious food, great choice including vegetarian options, wonderfully presented. Highly recommended - we shall return.

The food was good, the staff were brilliant,the drinks good, overall we had a nice experience, we will certainly return in the future, keep up the good standard.

Overall the food was good and the service was ok and friendly. The atmosphere was ok but let down by the decor which perhaps needs a little updating

Uncooked cold in the middle burger and the chicken had pink veins in it not acceptable. We told the waitress about this and she said she would do it all again, at that point we really had gone off wanting to eat anything from there. The manager didn't even come and see what the problem was or apologise until my partner had a chat at the end anout gbe food.We will not be going back.

Great place. Lovely food, I would definitely go again. Staff were lovely, very helpful and great with my 2 grandchildren. First time we’ve been in since reopened, nicely decorated.

Proper American food, done right! Food was delicious, only thing I would add is that Nachos might be better served without the paper, as when the cheese cools they get stuck to the paper. Other than that, spot on!

Really enjoyable visit for an 8th Birthday. Good sized tasty portions served by a friendly team. Certainly somewhere I will visit again with either children or adults.

very friendly helpful staff but food only ok. steak tough and far too much salt on chips. it would be better to let customers add own salt to their taste.

Food was cold and burger was only just cooked, ut was extremely pink inside borderline raw. But service was good, staff were lovely, just not the food.

The staff were all so welcoming and the food was absolutely amazing. It was reasonably priced and worth every penny. I loved the fact it is an open kitchen so you can see the food getting prepared.

Great service as was the atmosphere. The food was delicious with little waiting time. Will definitely be going back soon! The refurb really makes the place look lovely!

Food was very nice atmosphere was very good but could have done with a extra server working as it was very busy unless it was busier due to the offer from stray FM

Loved the music, the menu and the fact that this local gem has been resurrected. The ribs were to die for. Will order more next time!

Attentive service with really tasty burgers and cake. Only negative was how long it took to make a cocktail which was not as good as it sounded. Otherwise it was an enjoyable evening out.

Clean and energetic restaurant ! Great food and quick service. Will definitely go back, decent size menu and cater for all appetites. Large parties catered for upon request.

Outstanding.... we had a lovely time thanks so much and my son is not the easiest to please with his meals as likes most things plain and boring but he absolutely loved everything and wants to go again. The man who was helping with all our needs was amazing too and so attentive so thanks very much it was great xxx

This was our first visit plus our first night out in ages due to my ill health x the table they gave us was so cold every time door open my partner had steak well done came rare took it back burnt outside still rare I had burger chips so cold we never even got to eat together as my husband meal went back twice also dessert was waffle half scoop ice cream what a shock

Great food and lovely service as always. The children always enjoy eating here. Wish I had brought a cardigan though as it was quite cold in the restaurant.

Was shown to our table as soon as we arrived, Asked if we required drinks and was given the menu. Wasn't kept waiting to long for our food as it wasn't very busy. Food was very good and nice and hot. Will certainly go back.

Food and service good. Could do with more heating on a cold winter night....especially around tables near the windows ❄️. Drinks seem a bit pricey.

Had a great time at Damn Yankee- good, plentiful food and drinks. Service seemed to slow down as the restaurant emptied though; we had to find an elusive staff member to pay the bill.

A favourite of mine, plenty of delicious dishes and you’ll certainly not leave feeling hungry
