Too much on the plate, couldn't cut it up properly. Roast potatoes hard, beef dried out, gravy runny, overall not very enjoyable

Last minute booking for a light bite lunch of starter and main for two. Garlic mushrooms on toast starter one of the best over many years! Main courses also good. Pleasant clean restaurant/ bar area, good service and great beer! Will be back.

Went for the lite lunch two courses it was quite substantial couldn’t eat it all. It was varied something for everyone’s taste. The beer and wine was good. Service was efficient and pleasant. Will go back again definitely.

Food always good and the service is very good the only suggestion I have is that the menu needs changing occasionally and should perhaps include some salad choices but overall always enjoy the visit.

Very disappointing. Don't usually write bad reviews, but it was my Mums 77th birthday. We entered the Dining room about 12.45 and it was empty, usually you would expect to see dinners already eating, by the time we left we were still the only ones. We both ordered the Beef Sunday Lunch (I would have had the lamb but I figured you can't stuff up a beef joint). The plates arrived promptly The Yorkshires were burnt but at least they looked homemade. The veggies were ok, the roasters were nice. The Beef however was tough as old boot leather and very chewy. The gravy came in a boat but was a Knorr stock cube barely melted so solid bits were covering the meal. The beef was either bad quality control or a cheap cut more like stewing beef. Either way you cannot get away with this. There are many choices of places to eat these days and your reputation lives or dies on the quality of your food, whether in the preparation, the quality from your suppliers or your chef attention. Saw him several times away from the kitchen during service. Wasn't charged for meal as it was basically inedible, was offered pork dinner but decided to leave. Paid for drinks and a £3.50 tip.
