About The Drop Bar Cafe
From the Caribbean to Chorlton, The Drop Bar Cafe slings gastronomic bikkle bombs bound to make the city’s tastebuds tickle. The passion project of two friends inspired by West Indian fare, The Drop brings classics like goat curry, Jamaican jerk chicken, ackee and saltfish windward to the Greater Manchester region. Best washed down with The Drop’s dangerously good rum punch, this colourful and cosy restaurant down barlow Moor Road is quickly becoming a hot ticket in the neighbourhood. With a nod to the great British tradition of remixing breakfast into lunch and celebrating the sabbath with a feast, The Drop’s Barlow Moor Road Brunch and Reggae or Rasta Sunday Roasts are highlights of this carefully-selected collection of mouthwateringly good dining choices.

Excellent service and food! Really nice vibe, it felt like I was back on holiday. Have been several times before and always have a great time.
Brilliant food and very speedy, staff were friendly and helpful. Fantastic to finally see a Caribbean restaurant that has it all- doesn't slack on the food or the service standard. Hope that they keep it up!
Amazing in every way. Yes the service was a bit slow but the staff are friendly and rushed off their feet. It's a fantastic place.
Amazing food, also great cocktails and lovely staff our favourite new place to eat, can't wait to go again we even got a takeaway to go as the food was so moorish
The best Caribbean food i have ever eaten. Service was fantastic, food was amazing and the waiting time was next to nothing despite the place being packed. When you think some places are charging £15 for a burger these days I would pay £13 for the bench drop box all day long. Its a proper meal. The drinks menu was good, loads of choice and the restaurant itself looks superb. These guys have got this place running like clockwork. I would give this place 7 stars if i could.
Went for 'early tea' .........Ginger Mojitos are wonderful, my rump steak was absolutely the most delicious ever, tasty, well cooked & served with excellent sides! Lamb chops were cooked pink and fantastic & the special Steak stew was rich and tasty! Service is always with a smile and the vibe is chilled and vibrant at the same time.
Food was lovely and plenty of it. Price was reasonable . Service was good could have done with another person serving as it was busy . Shame the place is small but we did book and got a table no problem . Overall very good . 😃
Best carribean food ive experienced outside jamaica, staff are pleasant and friendly my only gripe would be that tables and floor area should be cleared as soon as customer leaves we were sat at a table with the last customers plates and cutlery still on it for about 10 mins till sumeone come and cleared it.
Hes and Jimmy (the owners) were fantastic from start to finish and the food was exceptional. If you like good food with everything made from scratch and delivered in a friendly down to earth way then this is the place to be!
Beautiful food, the staff are friendly and polite inside has a lovely vibe but as it's always so busy and it's quite small the outside seating area doesn't play the same music as inside and can get a little cold but will always come here again 4*
Great place: food is absolutely fantastic The vibe is spot on and the service from the team is always great! Pretty much anything on the menu is fresh and delicious: but make sore you try the halloumi too
Lovely atmosphere, very busy! But that can only be a good thing! Food was fabulous. Staff are very friendly.. I suspect they will have to move to bigger premises as this is becoming such a popular eatery! Superb!
Glad I booked as was busy. Food was very good. Will be going again definitely as great atmosphere and really good food. Shame I was driving as I would have liked to try a rum punch or three
Delicious food and friendly, efficient staff but can't give full marks as they 'hadn't checked' quandoo that day so messed up the reservation I'd made 3 days before. We had to wait an hour for a table - annoying and no recompense for their mistake.
Food was mediocre, staff were very nice. Drink were pretty average too. Ackee and saltfish was very bland, the curry goat was ok but meat was very tough, could have done with atleast another hour cook down time. Best thing I ate was the jerk chicken no complaints what so ever about that, it was amazing.
A great little restaurant!!! The atmosphere was friendly and the service was really good. Absolutely loved the food, looked great and tasted even better - will definitely be back. Possibly the best meal we've had in Chorlton!!!
The food was in good portions and was very tasty. Staff were attentive and pleasant. Be warned though that they only take cash. Fortunately there is a Co-op opposite with a cash machine so wasn't too much of a problem. Will go back again.
Food was so tasty- best meal out in a long time. Even though it was busy the staff were friendly and service was quick. Great atmosphere and very reasonable prices. Will definitely be going back!
The food here is very tasty and the portions are good. The atmosphere is great - very young and the music is excellent, albeit a little loud for my ears! Service was friendly. The Sunday lunch looked very inviting and good value.
Simple amazing food, service and music. Would totally recommend it as it is one of the best places in the area and not just for the Caribbean food lovers.. You will see me soon :)
This place is super busy which is a good sign but it took us 40 minutes to be served for food or drinks which was annoying. But once you've ordered, foods out pretty quick and it is the best food ever! So worth the wait!! Love love love!!! Really nice staff too
The food and the service was good, but the music was so loud it was almost impossible to have a conversation. I asked if it was possible to turn the music down anduring they agreed ,but I don't think they did.I did mention it again when we were leaving, the waitress had to ask me to repeat it,as she couldn't hear me,said that the customers liked the music loud.
Visited The Drop for our family Christmas gathering as it's local to us all. Food was delicious and plentiful. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the chef had a chat with us too. We will be visiting again!
Curry goat was amazing as well as the rest of the meal, good portion sizes and fair prices, lovely food presentation, excellent service and friendly staff. Will definetly be visiting again :)
great vibe at The Drop, casual and relaxed. Food is amaaaaaazing, if you are unsure what to order get the Hench Drop Box so you can get a little bit of everything.
Delicious food! They need to expand and get a card machine! Can't wait to go back! Portions are very generous and very reasonably priced. I had the tastiest curried goat ever!
Great food, great service. Very quick tho. Loved the platter. So much food. The stew was also great. Spicy. Cocktails are excellent, but you have to like rum. Luckily we do!
food is always good but very unorganised today. Told jerk chicken would take too long then it came out after changing my order. The portions are usually good for the hench drop box but my food seemed very skanty however people coming after me received the full trimings. More staff needed and better organisation as waited 20 mins after requesting my bill
Friendly service. Delicious food. Great price. I'll definitely be going back! The only down side was that the music was slightly loud, which made it difficult to hear my companion!
Staff always pleasant and friendly. Food full of flavour! Would recommend the hench box if you want abit of everything. They have my mum a free cocktail for her birthday
Food was excellent, portion sizes healthy & friendly staff. I visited this restaurant with my family and had a lovely experience, we will definitely be making it a regular destination.
I hope The Drop doesn't become a victim of its own success as it's so popular and rightly so - the food is truly superb. It is very busy though so make sure you book ahead.
Great food and great vibes. This is my favorite local restaurant. Service can be a little relaxed, but that suits the place. Try the lamb chops and rum punch
Great food, service with a smile, rum taster was 4 double shots for £10.. what's not to like. Only a few tables, so recommend booking. Will definitely go again.
Food was amazing, had curry goat, jerk chicken, peas n rice with slaw n salad, fried dumpling and plantain, everything was cooked to perfection will definitely be returning soon.
Delicious food, great atmosphere. I had the curry goat, it was very authentic! The place is small so I would suggest you book in advance, it gets very busy! Will definitely be going back!
Small but very friendly with a lovely atmosphere. The food is incredible, worth every penny. The music is pretty loud for such a small venue, but the food more than makes up for it.
Fantastic food ,great friendly staff Had the jerk chicken was amazing Thought it was reasonably priced too ,Will defo be going back.went with friends all really enjoyed it
great! great! great! I would visit The Drop again and really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. My family were really happy with it and would highly recommend
Really nice food, tasty , good service attentive staff, we loved the punch juice and rum punch.would definetly recommend others to go. We will be going back soon.
Outstanding food tastiest roast dinner I've ever had!!! Massive portions, hot food, efficient service, reasonably priced for a taste sensation, I will be returning without a a doubt!!!!
Good atmosphere and loads of choice on menu. Sunday roast and the fish box recommended!!! Staff are very welcoming too. Gets very busy on Sunday so you may want to book in advance.
Really tasty food and good service. The Rasta Roast is vegan, so my daughter can also get a delicious meal as well as the rest of the family enjoying jerk chicken roast dinner.
Great restaurant, really friendly, food great and good value! only slight thing is that music is very loud which is OK but we had my mum with us who is a bit deaf!
Really beautiful food but waiting time was well over 20 mins to even order drinks when the restaurant was almost empty and I had told the waiter that we were ready to order 10 mins earlier. Great little place but only if you have a lot of patience and are not in a rush!
The most authentic Caribbean food restaurant that I've visited....Great food and vibe....friendly staff will definitely be going again.....it's cash only....be aware !(there's a cash machine very close!)
Great, atmosphere, fantastic food and friendly service. Really enjoyed our meal in this lively and popular restaurant. The goat curry and jerk chicken particularly recommended. Will be back!
Food was outstanding, had the veg drop box. It was really delicious and the potions are massive. I will definitely go back soon. 10 out of 10
Fabulous food, a bit of a wait for the food to arrive but we weren't in a rush so didn't mind. I'd Recommend a visit to friends.
Amazing Caribbean food! Highly recommended. The jerk chicken and the curry goat are just gorgeous. I definetly will go back. The worst point...the music is too loud.
