Very good, great food and very attentive staff, the drinks and atmosphere were great too, all in all a great visit I would highly recommend
2nd visit here for Sunday lunch- haven't beaten it yet. Very accommodating of our 2 children and food simply delicious. Highly recommend the desserts too. We booked for 12pm and were the only table for a while, which suits us for the children. Soon filled up so we had a longer wait for our desserts, but totally worth it. A super front of house gentleman, made the dining experience even better with his polite charm and humour. A fantastic place, with amazing food. Rare to find a gastropub that can serve such great food, 3 courses for £22, I would say is good value.
This is a hidden gem - the food and service are excellent - please give this wonderful place a try. The posh prawn cocktail is divine not to mention the homemade fresh bread
I was looking for something special for my other half's birthday and came across The Dunsforth tooked away in a lovely Yorkshire village. It was everything I hoped it would be - a perfect balance of a top class restaurant with the charm and decor of a great village pub. The food was excellent both in taste and presentation, and the service was friendly and professional. Definitely one to return to!
Once again we had a fantastic meal at The Dunsforth. The menu was perfectly planned and meticulously cooked using the very best locally sourced ingredients. The food really was flawless. When you think of top quality, relaxed pub dining this is exactly what you want but very rarely get. The Dunsforth never disappoints.
From the moment we walked in we were made to feel very welcome , we had the early bird menu , and it was delicious , thankyou Dunsforth we will be returning very soon !!
The Dunsforth is our go to pub. We love the staff and the food is always top notch. We have eaten there for Sunday lunches and normal evening meals and have never been disappointed.
Excellent food and great service. The location is very pretty and the decor inside relaxing. We look forward to a return visit. It also has an outside area for the summer nights.
We had the pris fixe menu. Fabulous value, and very tasty, well presented food - higher end restaurant quality rather than the usual pub standard. Homemade breads a bonus. Staff are friendly and efficient. We have been here several times, and will look forward to returning again.
Excellent food and service, we will definetly visit again. Great choice of wine, and range of options on the food too. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and small front garden
Very good haddock and chips and fish gratin. Generous portions, nicely presented. It was quiet for a Thursday evening, though no complaints from us !
The food at the restaurant was delicious although there wasn't a great deal of choice. The sticky toffee pudding was one of the best I have had! The service left a bit to be desired as the staff waiting on tables appeared to be students who had not had much training in customer service. However, it wasn't a big deal and didn't spoil the evening.
Great place for a special pub lunch. Food is delicious and presented beautifully and the service is impeccable served by a very knowledgeable head waiter.
Very good menu. Food cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Service was also equally good. Wholeheartedly recommend the restaurant for somewhere to have a better than normal experience.
Your Sunday lunch is one of the best we have had, a lovely cosy welcoming style and atmosphere, staff are nicely attentive, have recommended it to so many people, came one day mid week evening and had a superb meal, the cod was so fresh and delicious, puds are to die for, looking forward to another visit.
Fantastic food great service in lovely surroundings. We loved the little touches like home made picalilli and horse radish sauce. Highly recommended we will definitely be returning.
Honestly amazing service, food and atmosphere. Highly recommend the Sunday lunch. Cosy atmosphere, lovely decor and coursework try feel with real fire.i would go again and recommend.
Great service and food. Friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Great value and quality ingredients. Some lovely touches throughout. Plenty of choice menu wise and well kept ale.
FANTASTIC FOOD, GREAT ALES, BRILLIANT SERVICE. WILL COME AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN. CHILD'S MENU WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD: SMOKED SALMON, FISH AND CHIPS AND DUNSFORTH MESS. YUMMIE
Excellent service, staff very friendly and helpful. Food was fantastic. A little pricey, but nothing you wouldn't expect from a recommendation from the Michelin guide. Ideal as anew occasional visit for special occasions.
Lovely village pub, friendly staff and amazing food. This has become one of our favourite places to eat, Sunday lunch is also fantastic and great value.
Very welcoming, cheerful, efficient staff .The food looked very appetising and tasted really pleasing;Roast beef melted in the mouth,Yokshires were generous and tasty.all the veg were just right...plumb and apple crumble spot on...superb fare!
Our go to pub when getting the family (and friends) together. Lovely staff and the food is always spot on. Looking forward to visiting again before Christmas.
Once again an amazing meal and couple with amazing service. Great Pub with fabulous food but served in a very relaxing atmosphere. Country dining at at's best.
Highly recommended. The prix fixe menu is excellent value for money and the staff were fantastic when dealing with one of the party who suffers with a severe food allergy. Food and service both magnificent and we felt very comfortable and never felt rushed. I will definitely be returning in the future! (Do please note we ate at 1230 so this review perhaps does not account for busier periods with regards to noise etc!)
Excellent food, good atmosphere and great service. This is a special place which strikes a good balance between pub and restaurant - a superb night
Great food, nice atmosphere, good service. Good choice of food and selection of beers too. Highly enjoyable evening. Recommended! Will certainly be returning in the future.
The food at The Dunsforth looks amazing and tastes fabulous. The service was friendly and efficient. We shall certainly be returning very soon. Yvette and Mike Adams
Great food and excellent service translates into a great dining experience. The very warm welcome will ensure that we shall definitely be visiting again in the near future.
Nice restaurant good food doesn't seem to be well supported. Staff very attentive but lacked atmosphere . Not somewhere that I would make a regular place to visit
Booked for 6.30. Arrived and sat down at 6.29. Asked if we were entitled to orrder from the fixed price menu available up to 6.30 and were told because it was now 6.31 we did not qualify. We are local. Will we visit this pub again. No of course we won't. Another Chefette with delusions of grandeur.
First class food , pleasant, efficient service . The best Sunday lunch I have ever had in a restaurant . Will definitely recommend to others .
Lovely environment, nice quiet dining area, great food and service. Living not far away We will definitely be back fairly soon that's for sure. What more can I say?
Super food - portion size really inconsistent - the fish was beautiful with all veg and a few potato slices incorporated but was meagre in size to the pie of the day. Would be better for veg and potatoes to be served on the side.
Very enjoyable. Good service nice ambience, proper 'Yorkshires' ! We will certainly go again for Sunday lunch and also give their evening service a try.
We have been before but brought our daughter son and four your old granddaughter . Food fab but had my granddaughter who was only offered child menu after we asked for one and had her main course from that menu but on our bill noticed we were charge for a adult desert. Two of the adult had the steak we thought was a supplement for this but was charged was for each course not a three course meal. A bit disappointed with is but had a fab meal and day Many thanks Michelle Mathers
The service was excellent. However 2 of the meals came to the table lukewarm. The fish in the childrens meals of fish and chips had skin on which they didn't like and I imagine many children would whinge about that - not just mine. I also couldn't understand why only half a mushroom and half a tomato with the grill we chose. Having said that I still feel we got good value for money. A meal for 3 adults and 2 children plus 3 desserts was less than £80.
Best Sunday lunch I've ever tasted! Plenty of choice on the menu & all fairly priced. Staff very efficient and friendly. A lovely, modern & clean pub/restaurant. Will definitely be visiting again soon - & definitely be recommending to everyone I know!
Beautiful setting really liked the feel of the place and although we had quite a wait for the food it was certainly worth waiting for, looking forward to visiting again soon.
Very friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and the food was excellent! I would just suggest that the specials board could be better positioned, we couldn't see it at all and had to rely on the description from the waitress, so when the food came it wasn't quite what I was expecting ,but lovely none the less.
