What a find! I ate here with three other people for lunch. We found the dining area very comfortable and roomy. We all had different meals on the light bite menu. Very generous for light portions. I chose the roast dinner of the day with slight trepidation as I have never really had a good roast dinner yet when out. Surprise surprise, not only was it hot it had vegetables that were not only edible but enjoyable as was the rest of the meal, thoroughly enjoyed it. My companions also enjoyed their starters and mains, cant comment on the puds - no room. A great meal for a very reasonable price, girl who welcomed us very sweet and was busy behind the bar and waitressing. It is a shame we were on our travels so will probably not be frequenting the pub in the near future, but will certainly come again when up this way

Food was great, great choices, very generous portions and of good quality. Waitress was attentive, friendly and very helpful. The restaurant was very quiet (although they looked like they were gearing it for a large 60th birthday), which in many ways was great as it meant we had super service but as a result lacked a bit if atmosphere. However I was there with 5 family members over 75 so in many ways it worked for us, it wasn't noisy, we had loads of space and throughly enjoyed the food. Would definitely go back

The table looked nice and clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The meal was lovely and the large selection of roasts, potatoes and vegetables made for an excellent meal. A very good selection of starters and desserts. Very impressed. The lovely surroundings all added to a very pleasant experience.

Food is really nice and quality but the service is terrible expect long delays waited over 35 minutes to be served a dessert menu whilst the waitress was just wondering around

Would definitely recommend. Food is great! Brilliant Atmosphere, quick service and can really tell that the staff enjoy their jobs. Even when busy nothing is too much trouble. Usually go on a Sunday. Recommend that you book as gets busy.

Lovely fathers day lunch. Five choices of meat at the carvery and veg cooked well, not mushy like some carveries. Nice choice of starters and puds. Pecan pie to die for. Excellent service, always with a smile. Will definitely return.

Having searched on line for "best places to eat in Nottingham", this was our first Sunday lunch at the Elwes Arms, and we weren't disappointed! Although Sundays are restricted to the carvery, there were four roasts to choose from, and between us our party of five sampled them all. The meats were all well cooked, there was a fabulous selection of accompanying vegetables plus Yorkshire puds & stuffing, and the overall service was excellent. Well done to the Elwes - we shall be back!!!

This pub has a great atmosphere, I've always had the best homemade carvery here on a Sunday. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff, always smiley and happy to help. Would recommend to everyone.
