We went to the Farmers Boy Inn as one of the party is coeliac and so the choice of gluten free options was very tempting. Food was very tasty, nicely cooked, and generous portions. Definitely recommend a meal there!

Had a good evening, staff were very friendly and attentive. Only comment is the cost of the pie meals we had we found to be overpriced for the size of the meal.

Had to wait nearly 45 mins for main meal, the inn at the time was not that busy. Over a 20 min wait for sweet also. Prices quite expensive and food not that nice. Waiter was very nice helpful and polite, nice cosy pub shame about the food which was rather greasy and too spicy. I don't think we will be visiting again

Waitresses and chef fab, unfortunately the manager that took the order was very poor. Out of only 6 meals, he got 5 wrong and they had to go back. 2 were still wrong after that?!? Disappointing for my brothers 50th. He just wanted a simple, good pub meal but we didn't get it because of the order taking. Top marks to the chef though as what did come out was cooked extremely well.

we found the Seating a bit cramped , had the option of large table in bar area but opposite toilets and too bright, = no atmosphere so opted for restaurant. Waiting staff appeared very distracted unhappy. Steak pies excellent.

Booking process easy, straughtforward and efficient. Table location was fine. I had phoned beforehand with a query re Veg options and they were really helpful. Menu options many and varied. No complaints at all about choice. Nevertheless, could have done with more paper menus and certainly more pie paper menus (only 2 for a party of 6). The food was disappointing compared to previous visits. Starter portions small for the price. Calamari was very dry. Satay portion very small given the £8 price ticket. Pies were as good as ever however the biryani was so overcooked! Tasted like it had had too much time in the microwave. I have been here quite a few times before. This time we had taken visitors from abroad. Not the best impression of a country pub with great food. Hopefully this was just a blip. Will go again.

The Farmers Boy Inn was a delight, the food was excellent and the service was brilliant. I would recommend it to anyone and I will be back in the future. The waitresses were friendly and helpful, they were always smiling and I could see they enjoyed their job, something I think is important. The food was cooked perfectly and there was a nice selection, although we went on a Sunday for lunch, there was still options on the menu, so if you weren't looking for a roast you could pick something else, this was a nice touch, as one guest on our table is not a huge fan of roast dinners, he was able to choose something different and enjoyed his food. We opted for three courses and we left full and happy. As I said I will be returning and will tell all my friends and family to pop in too. Thank you for a lovely time, we couldn't have asked for more.

Had booked online and turned up 5 minutes late but after finding our booking in my Christian name instead of Surname all was well. They were very very busy but had plenty of staff to attend. We were in the old part of the pub as I had asked for a romantic spot. The food was fab, beautifully presented. The music was exactly the right volume and content for us. If ever in the area again I wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Fantastic place to come and eat and drink! Super staff, very friendly and helpful. The menu is fabulous with absolutely something for everyone. I took my dad for father’s day and each Dad was given one of their award winning fruit pies as a gift from them! A lovely touch. I can see why it’s one of my dads favourite eateries!! Thank you Farmers Boy!

The food was absolutely amazing! Despite them recovering from a fire the quality of the food and the service was not affected in the slightest! It’s so nice to go to pub/restaurant that have a dedicated gluten free menu and it genuinely was gluten free!!!

Service was good to begin with but then they forgot to come and ask for your dessert order and we had to ask 3 times for the bill and ended up going to he bar to pay after an hour of waiting. The food was good although the crab fish cakes were not worth the almost £9 charged. Atmosphere of the place is good and toilets nice and clean

Visited at 4:30pm after what had clearly been a busy lunch service. Staff were pretty max'd out and they could have done with some more people. Service was attentive and the place was clean. Food was OK. 3 of our group of 4 had pies which is apparently what the pub is know for and while these were acceptable they were nothing to write home about. The other dishes I saw ordered by other patrons all looked good.
