Perfect Sunday lunch! Great food, including gluten free options, great service and a great atmosphere, enhanced by the Olde Wolde building and log fire! We will be back.
Friendly, great food a and smashing pies. the staff were attentive even though could do with a bit more training. Well worth a second and third visit.
Great food freshly cooked to order, friendly staff & lovely ambiance. Pretty restored building set in lovely countryside. Pies are fantastic and there are always Veggie and Vegan options. Would thoroughly reccomend- never disappoints.
The Farmers Boy Inn was a delight, the food was excellent and the service was brilliant. I would recommend it to anyone and I will be back in the future. The waitresses were friendly and helpful, they were always smiling and I could see they enjoyed their job, something I think is important. The food was cooked perfectly and there was a nice selection, although we went on a Sunday for lunch, there was still options on the menu, so if you weren't looking for a roast you could pick something else, this was a nice touch, as one guest on our table is not a huge fan of roast dinners, he was able to choose something different and enjoyed his food. We opted for three courses and we left full and happy. As I said I will be returning and will tell all my friends and family to pop in too. Thank you for a lovely time, we couldn't have asked for more.
Had booked online and turned up 5 minutes late but after finding our booking in my Christian name instead of Surname all was well. They were very very busy but had plenty of staff to attend. We were in the old part of the pub as I had asked for a romantic spot. The food was fab, beautifully presented. The music was exactly the right volume and content for us. If ever in the area again I wouldn't hesitate to book again.
Tried the meatballs and they were great! I would definitely recommend giving these a go! Service as always was fab, it’s always busy so I suggest booking a table to make sure you don’t miss out!
Personable staff made us welcome and we were shown to our table straight away, even though we were early. Wonderful food and good atmosphere. Best beer all holiday.
AMAZING food, great choices and the staff are always friendly. If you are coeliacs then they have a dedicated gluten free menu, including their pies!!!
Fantastically priced home cooked food to the highest standards with great service makes for a brilliant meal. I would recommend this place highly and will return!!
A most enjoyable evening. I had visitors from Spain and treated them to a real English experience. The food was excellent, and the service was good.
I brought colleagues from the US and Canada to the Farmers Boy last night. The food was amazing , staff were incredible and we were all made to feel so welcome. Loved it
Fantastic place to come and eat and drink! Super staff, very friendly and helpful. The menu is fabulous with absolutely something for everyone. I took my dad for father’s day and each Dad was given one of their award winning fruit pies as a gift from them! A lovely touch. I can see why it’s one of my dads favourite eateries!! Thank you Farmers Boy!
Service was amazing and we didn’t have to wait along time to order or receive food . We have 3young children so that is always a worry for us . Food was amazing as well and they did everything to accommodate our requirements. Very friendly staff and lovely place . Definitely a new go to place for us and will recommend! Father’s Day gift was a nice touch
Very friendly pub which allows dogs in the bar area. We went for 4 different pies which we thoroughly enjoyed. Finished with the crumble which was delicious.
Very nice pies :-) Decent ales and a cracking 80's and 90's rock playlist... Looking forward to attempting a 'Big Ugly Challenge' at some point
The food was absolutely amazing! Despite them recovering from a fire the quality of the food and the service was not affected in the slightest! It’s so nice to go to pub/restaurant that have a dedicated gluten free menu and it genuinely was gluten free!!!
Great service, awesome pies and fantastic location! We popped in after Go Ape for birthday celebrations and had an amazing experience! Shame it’s not local...
Service was good to begin with but then they forgot to come and ask for your dessert order and we had to ask 3 times for the bill and ended up going to he bar to pay after an hour of waiting. The food was good although the crab fish cakes were not worth the almost £9 charged. Atmosphere of the place is good and toilets nice and clean
Great service and good we had a fantastic experience the Sunday lunch very very yummy followed by great service in a great location we will be back for the pie menu
Visited at 4:30pm after what had clearly been a busy lunch service. Staff were pretty max'd out and they could have done with some more people. Service was attentive and the place was clean. Food was OK. 3 of our group of 4 had pies which is apparently what the pub is know for and while these were acceptable they were nothing to write home about. The other dishes I saw ordered by other patrons all looked good.
Great meal, welcoming and friendly staff, and a lovely old pub. A varied menu and it was nice to have plenty of gluten free options.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The pies were had by us all and nice. We will definitely return again .
Great food great service lovely country pub . Home cooked roasts and big variety of homemade desserts . The pies and burgers here are amazing . Always enjoyed good food
The food was delicious, couldnt fault it one bit. It was definately worth the wait. My mum was over the moon with her meal i treated her to yesterday. She said it was so nice to have such a favourable pie with so much meat in it. Would definately recommend going here for such lovely pub food. There was a few things i noticed in the toilets that need attention. The window edging was fallen off & just placed ontop of the toilet cistern, the finish to the wall panels could do with edging to cover the tatty edges etc. Before walking into the ladies all you could smell was the Little Boys Room which did put me off quite alot - thinking of cleanliness point of view. All the staff were very attentive & helpful.
Great experience, excellent food, very friendly staff. Happy to be back for our farewelll event in a few weeks time. I can highly recommend this pub. Regards Jürgen
Please staff, nice environment. Good choice of drinks and food (even on a Sunday, not just Sunday lunch....) Nice beer garden for the summer months.
The table was booked on line. One hour before we were due to eat the restaurant rang to say there is no vacancy for that time. Very disappointed
As usual the food was fabulous, we did have a bit of wait for it, but the restaurant was busy so we were not overly concerned with this. Staff were as always very helpful and friendly.
Had a lovely evening at The Farmers Boy. Atmosphere lovely and the place was really warm and cosy. Definitely required on a chilly Feb evening. Service fantastic and food even better. The pies really are world class.
Lovely atmosphere. We had a power cut for an hour of our meal. Whi.ch isn't anyone's fault. Nice staff. The pies are nice but a tad pricey I think.
Went here for lunch with my sister on a very cold day. The open log fire and friendly helpful staff very welcoming. The food was excellent.
I had my birthday lunch at The Farmers Boy yesterday, the pies are amazing, staff so efficient and friendly and the pub really cosy and welcoming. I felt thoroughly spoilt and will definitely be back, thank you!
Lovely and friendly with delicious food. Always a pleasure to go for something to eat, lots of choice on the menu and specials. Quirky layout.
We found the staff friendly, with good service. A warm, comfortable pub on a chilly evening, great food that we all enjoyed. We would certainly return.
Very friendly staff a credit to the Farmers Boy. Food was spot on will be returning. Cosy surroundings and a fantastic choose of meals. Thank you.
We have often visited this pub. The welcome we got from Darren was as great as usual and there was no problem over the fact that we were a few minutes late for our table. However, we waited ages to be given our menus - only happened when Darren reminded the waitress and instead of handing us one each, she left them in a pile on the table. There was no courtesy check to see that our meals were ok ( they were delicious). When my husband ordered more drinks, mine came, but his did not. After waiting several more minutes, he managed to attract someone’s attention and they went to get his drink, only to come back and tell us they had run out of Chardonnay. All in all, welcome and food were great, service could do with some improvement.
All diets were well catered for (veggie, gluten free, children and carnivore). All meals were excellent, with good portion sizes, and fab service in a great atmosphere.
Brilliant pub- great food and awesome fireplace. The pies are amazing. Friendly and attentive staff and feels like a proper pub! Lots of quirky pictures and other bits 100% go there!
