When you think traditional British pub it’s usually places like The Fox & Castle Old Windsor that come to mind first. Beautiful to look at, cosy, welcoming and with first-rate pub food. Indeed, The Fox & Castle is a charming Olde World pub that has for years been an integral part of the Old Windsor community. You’ll find a fine selection of real ales at the bar, of course, as well as a food menu that rotates often according to what local produce is available and in season. Whatever time of year you visit, though, rest assured of British pub classics done with aplomb – thick cut gammon steak with free range duck eggs and chips, anyone? You’ll find The Fox & Castle Old Windsor on Burfield Road where it’s very worth heading armed with a reservation. This delightful pub restaurant is popular.
The food was delicious and there was plenty of it The service was good We booked an early meal so the pub was quiet All in all a very enjoyable meal thank you
Very welcoming staff. However interior was very dark so we chose a table next to window. Our order was taken and delivered very quickly but we waited a long time for our food. Meal was tasty and well presented but there was no sign of any onions in the onion gravy, in fact it reminded us of a ‘bisto granules’ gravy rather than stock based. Overall we felt the meal was very good value even though a little disappointing because of the gravy issue.
Lovely food, excellent service and a beautiful setting. A wide choice of food on the menu and good sized portions. Thank you for a lovely evening!
