Lovely food great atmosphere and quick service. The only complaint I have is the car park which is very small with the access from one side blocked which is not helpful but once inside the pub the food was excellent

Beautiful food, excellent service and a nice setting. I had the lobster sandwich (lunchtime menu) which was delicious and my friend went for the burger which was huge! A sticky toffee pudding later and we were full! We will be back!

Excellent friendly service and a fantastic Sunday roast. The 12-hour-beef was to die for! Lovely Interiour with welcoming fireplaces. Everything was fresh and served relatively quickly. The whole family loved it!

We love the quality of food and the overall atmosphere, hence the fact that we revisited the Inn; however, this is the second time we have found the service to be slow and inattentive despite the fact that the Inn was not particularly busy at the time of our visit.

Gorgeous pub with a roaring fire. Staff were friendly and the small plates were delicious with a glass of wine, especially the Korean pork belly bites. Very dog friendly too!

Great atmosphere, interesting and delicious food near the centre of Durham. The smoked pork fillet was especially good with whipped potato mash and a pulled ham and leek "pie" on the side. Generous portions and reasonable prices.

Very polite service Starter arrived very quickly but main course took quite some time - it was busy so guess that’s why and food was definitely worth waiting for, Great food - best Sunday Lunch I’ve had for a while Bit noisy where we were sitting as two large groups in- often feel it would be better to put large groups in the conservatory.

On a cold night it was probably not good to be in the garden room ! A bit chilly and a very noisy 21st birthday party didn't add to the ambience. Service ok, food ok.

I ordered the monkfish cheeks to start, what I got was posh scampi, it just wasn't what I had in mind, even if it was monkfish, you couldn't taste it for the deep fried breadcrumbs!! Not great, but the main more than made up for it!! I ordered the 12 hour feather blade beef, which was fantastic and my wife had the rare rump of beef which was well worth the extra £2 supplement!! The starter was quickly forgotten about!!!!

Nice food in a lovely pub few details like paper menus and no decent vegetarian options lets it down. Best for meat eaters but one of the best places Durham has to offer.

The food was pretty good. Service was awful. They ignored us all the time and forgot to bring us our drinks and food constantly. When they brought the bill, we noticed that there was a mistake and they didn't charge us three main dishes. We said that there must be a mistake, because we ordered more and they didn't even say thank you. In fact the staff did not talk at all, which made us feel not welcome.
