Fantastic service and the food was excellent fresh, hot, well worth a trip.

We very much enjoyed a family Sunday lunch at the George. It is obviously a popular venue and was very busy, therefore a bit of a wait and a buzz of chat but we were happy chatting . As we were celebrating a birthday they kindly brought out a little treat😃

Amazing food and wine..warm, friendly and super efficient and caring staff.lovely country setting, great beer garden..great ambience inside with comfortable seating. Very dog friendly.. we have been regular visitors for many years..the George just gets better...5 stars every day of the week..

There were 5 of us and a puppy for Sunday lunch. We had a perfect table in a recess. It was very busy and it took quite a long time for our drinks, then food order to be taken. But when our food arrived, it was excellent We were all served at the same time and the food was delicious and hot. The staff were pleasant, and although service was a little slow, it gave us all time to chat and catch up.

Friendly welcome and attentive staff. A good menu with plenty of choice. Portion sizes were huge.

Had a birthday here , a great discovery . Loved the banquette seating , not noisy , staff very pleasant and attentive , food excellent , rather large portions . Shepherds pie was delicious enough for two .

Being a vegetarian not a lot of choice for main menu not liking spicy food went for the other choice halloumi burger with not a lot of halloumi in it but really enjoyed the chips

Lovely food, pretty pub, friendly and efficient staff. Our favourite local pub. As was cold night it might have been nice to have the fire lit as it was last time we came but apart from that all was excellent as always

The pineapple tart tatin was amazing. The best dessert i have had in a long while.

First time we have visited The George and we really enjoyed the experience and especially the food which was freshly cooked (not microwaved pre packaged).

Service was good but wait was long! 1 hour from arrival to food service but food was great. £103.00 for four mains and four drinks was a bit pricey - sign of the times I guess!!!

It was obviously very busy for Mother’s Day and unfortunately we were sat next to a large noisy table (couldn’t hear ourselves speaking unless we shouted at each other). The food was nice and service was ok but it wasn’t as good as I remember it when I ate there in November. I had to get up and chase down staff to get any sauces for the roasts,. If I eat there again I’ll take my own sauces then I’m not limited to a teaspoonful, in a little dish.

Overall good, but waiting time was about an hour and the pork belly we ordered had too much fat (up to 50% of it was just fat).
