Great for people with special dietary requirements. Friendly staff. The layout of the pub makes social distancing easy.

Took my mum for her 89th birthday. The food was lovely, she enjoyed her Sunday roast and the rest of us enjoyed selections from the vegan menu. Lovely pub, good food, friendly staff. Will definitely go back.

Good choice of vegan food Staff not as attentive last time we visited

Lovely pub with lots of good real ales however our Sunday lunch was disappointing. The pork wasn't a roast as you would expect but 2 pork loin steaks which were overcooked. The beef was overcooked too. Veg was undercooked and roast potatoes were luke warm. There was nothing bad about the meal, all was acceptable, just disappointing. We won't be eating here again.

Really great Sunday roast, completely gluten free with a generous sized portion and really great value. Staff are really friendly and a lovely pub generally.

Lovely building in a perfect location. City centre next to the Cathedral s. The food was perfect, all cooked fresh . Good to visit a real pub and the staff were great. You need to book as very popular.

Everything is gluten free and coeliac safe, extensive menu including lots of veggie options, chips were amazing? We'll definitely be back

We had 2 roast pork dinners & 1 steak & ale pie. It was all tasty but the Yorkshire puddings were not nice - heavy & doughy and there was not a lot of steak in the pie. What steak there was, was quite chewy. However, overall, good value

Friendly team made us feel welcome, the variety of options for people on restricted diets (gluten-free, vegan) were fantasic, the food was great and the prices definitely reasonable! A comfortable and well-decorated space above a cosy pub. Highly recommended!

Very friendly helpful staff. Prompt service. Great choice on the menu for everyone (vegan, vegetarian, GF, DF). Great place to catch up with friend in the city centre. Building is full of history and character.

HUGE caterpillar in the salad. Staff very apologetic and knocked off the price of that main dish from the bill. Other main was very tasty. Ironic that caterpillar was on a vegan dish. Otherwise, quite impressed with vegan offerings on menu.

Wish i had not gone on the strength of reviews. The service was weird, the food was bland and tasteless. The vegetarian strudel was microwaved into submission and it couldnt be cut up to eat. When i pointed this out, they claimed it was all freshly cooked. They replaced it without a quibble but the replacement came out quickly and was also microwaved and became harder and harder to cut through as it cooled. Very disappointed. Would definitely not return.

Great food and I as a Coeliac was catered for fully. As we had to eat in the bar area as the quieter restaurant was closed, so if we had been in the restaurant then it would have been top marks all around.

This was our 3rd visit & won't be our last. The meals are amazing. Prices are good too. Staff are great.

Went for late Sunday lunch I had roast lamb very nice . My partner had the duck he said was very nice but sauce was very sweet he would prefer red wine gravy . The barman was very polite. Will be back soon
