OK,but they forgot one of our sweets and argued that we hadnt ordered it,even though they brought the other sweet ordered and we had to wait 10 minutes for my Granddaughters sweet to be served, with no apology.
Great fun and good food. Pizza was a winner and milkshake.
Great service and food.Really friendly staff in a great location.
Amazing food, friendly staff and live music, love this place :)
Been here for a number of times over many years. Sadly it wasn’t as remembered. Food below average. I work in industry and understand current challenges so feel guilty for this review. Suspect it’s lack of experienced staff. Left feeling very sad as, clearly, there are some issues here at present. Sorry staff - know you’re probably doing your best. To management - sorry - but staff need training urgently.
So good! Not a huge menu but we were tempted by the roast dinner (never usually choose a pub roast) and we weren't disappointed! Huge portion, lovely selection of well-seasoned veg. Sticky pudding for dessert was to die for!
A warm welcome, excellent service and very tasty food! Could do with a wider choice of beer/larger though.
After following you for months on Facebook, I booked a table for today back in May and looked forward to my (holiday) roast dinner. On arrival no one told me of any menu issues and after 15 minutes of enjoying the live music, we proceeded to order our roasts only to be told there were none and had sold everything hours ago!!!! So imagine my disappointment when a table of 7 walked in about 15 minutes later and had roast chicken served to them within minutes. When I asked how this was the case my waitress said she didn't know. We decided to try dessert even if it was over priced, only to be told there was none of that either. Overall apart from the music and the view this first visit was very disappointing.
Wonderful location, food was great and the staff were absolutely lovely. The perfect summer’s alfresco dining experience.
Excellent setting in the garden, helpful landlord and staff, prompt friendly service, good food at reasonable prices. Looking forward to a return visit.
Loved our lunch, very very quick service, had doggy ice cream and was a beautiful setting
The service was excellent and the food came quickly great meal will be calling again.
Food arrived quickly but it was tepid. Such a shame
Lovely garden space, overlooking Corfe Castle. Amazing good, served quickly, with friendly, helpful staff. So well organised. Would thoroughly recommend.
First time coming, not the last... lovely pub, lovely food and lovely staff
Few mistakes by waitress mains arrived before starters but overall the food was lovely, plenty of gluten free options for my friends and its a great pub
Good service and good food. Staff very polite and helpful.
Amazing on every level! Really friendly service, seated and served super fast and our dog was fetched water as soon as we were seated. Food was excellent! Portion size was was perfect and both our meals were really tasty and very well prepared. Great background music, great views and very welcoming atmosphere. Service was exemplary, professional but really friendly and personal as well. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be back ourselves. Thank you for a lovely lunch! x
Wonderful food and garden with fabulous views of Corfe Castle. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Great food and atmosphere. We sat in the beer garden with our two dogs for our meal. Very friendly and attentive staff.
The food was great and the setting is idyllic. It felt as if the service could have been quicker than it was, though the attention given by the staff was good.
Fabulous Sunday lunch and the ginger pudding was divine. Staff were as brilliant as always - even on such a busy day.
Terrible service. Food was awful and expensive avoid. Staff outside rude. Inside was OK.
Welcomed from the moment we entered the front door by a friendly barmaid who explained how to get to the garden. Perfect service throughout, delicious food, attentive staff... and an added bonus to get 10% off with our Steam train tickets! Have been before, and will return again!
The greyhound is one of our favourite places to go when visiting Swanage. We will often get a taxi up for a nice meal. Limited menu offered was lovely, sandwiches and pizzas offer a good/varied choice of toppings. We waited around 10 minutes to be approached and seated, despite speaking to the bar man when we walked in. A number of the team walked past without acknowledging us. Once seated we then waited just over 20 minutes for a drinks order to be taken. If the place was busy you could understand this, however at the busiest point there were around 8 tables. In the end had to call someone over and they cleared a table prior to coming over despite us having waiting so long. Once we were served initially the staff were attentive for additional drinks etc. We would not go back based on this experience alone, however, we have always previously had fantastic service so will take this as a blip in service and be back in summer.
Beautiful setting, friendly and efficient staff. Varied menu with Lovely food.
Great food very attentive can’t wait to be back there
Great food, quickly served and looked after throughout our visit by Erin, who despite basically , looking after everyone on her own managed to look after us and the other diners extremely well. Enjoyed it so much going back very soon.
Good food especially the red cabbage with apricots. Couldn’t finish and no room for dessert! A hot plate would have been good as the food did get cold quite quickly. Good service after an initial wait. Recommended and will go back
Great food as always … was put in side room to start but moved after we requested to be in main restaurant - have been ‘locked-away’ long enough and wanted social interaction.
Food came to table very quickly and was only warm
Booked in advance and we're taken to our table promptly. We had two dogs with us, which were welcomed. Food was very good and the view of Corfe Castle stunning. One downside was waiting nearly 30 minutes before any order was taken. I appreciate it was very busy, but a drinks order could have been taken.
Fabulous location , friendly ,efficient staff and wonderful food . What more could you ask for .
Lovely to be back and as ever, great service, fabulous food and welcoming hospitality.
Lovely atmosphere staff brilliant lovely garden with cover and heaters.Food great.
Ambiance, staff, service, food & drinks excellent. Sat in the garden with fabulous view of the Castle
First time at The Greyhound, and is certainly an experience we will be repeating! The shared ploughmans was just wonderful - highly recommended. Lovely, clean surroundings, and a joy to be able to eat inside the pub once again. The pub clearly highly values its reputation for service, and it pays off.
Fantastic food, great service and the views amazing. Will definitely go back again and highly recommend to others.
Amazing view, friendly staff. Food great, especially considering prime tourist position. Would definitely recommend
Firs time I'd seen my friend and been out since the pandemic started in March. The staff where great, they did forget our water but the waitress was very funny so we forgave her ;) Staff and pub had made a great effort to create a warm and festive atmosphere, not easy at the moment. Food was marvellous! We shared the raclette (with "special raclette cheese") and butternut squash hummous, both were delicious and ample portions. We had a lovely time and almost felt normal for a bit. Thanks :)
