In the tiny Cornwall village of Zelah, The Hawkins Arms is about as British a country pub as you could possibly wish to find. Whether you’re after traditional pub grub or Cornish fare that’s a little more gourmet, The Hawkins Arms has more than one dazzling menu so you’re sure to find something to fit your occasion. Local and fresh produce is used as much as possible, meaning meat from a trusted butcher and fish and seafood from a local fisherman. Just off Henver Lane between the Carland Cross roundabout and Chiverton Cross, The Hawkins Arms is very hard to miss but absolutely worth heading to armed with a reservation.
Fantastic food, and very friendly chef. Lovely, tratituonal pub. Lovely wood burner for warmth. After the meal, four of our group had to leave, so my friend and I moved to a quieter, cozy looking nook, where another burner was blazing away. It was a very cold evening, so the burner looked very inviting! Just a shame it was an electric fake, cold to the touch burner! However, this was my only issue!
Food was really good and staff attentive and kind. However, our enjoyment was marred somewhat by loud mouthed people sitting in the bar just behind us. We would have asked to be moved had we not been in the middle of eating our main course when they sat down.
Warm and cozy table! Good service and excellent food. Great value for money! We will defo eat here again and tell others about it .
Always excellent food at the Hawkins, but still retaining the old pub atmosphere that other pubs may lack these days. Keep on doing what you’re doing..
