Lovely efficient staff and pub food very good. Nice and cool inside to enjoy lunch. Great that we could bring dog too. Be good if water for dog could be provided.

Good food and good service. Would definitely recommend. Visit the mining museum if you have time and enjoy a ride on Tom the steam train

Had a lovely lasagna. Tables were well spaced out in the pub so you felt safe

Online booking was very straightforward and worked well. The food was excellent, you could tell the ingredients were fresh, portions were perfect and the flavours were great. We had the vegetable linguine and it was excellent! Highly recommended we will definitely come back!

We had a very good dinner at the Horse and Farrier. We enjoyed the substantial size of the portions since we had completed a 7 hour high-level walk earlier in the day!

I was disappointed with the menu. No vegan options at all. A specials menu without even a vegetarian option. Food pretty average for the price.

The staff were really friendly and helpful which is always a huge plus. The food was excellent and really tasty and they were happy to change some of the items with others. Would I eat there again? Definitely and would recommend the Horse and Farrier to you.

Booking was for 3.15 arrived at 3 p.m.. people who arrived after us got served. We waited and waited drinks were slow food finally came to table at 4.10 p.m. not happy it was a birthday celebration and it was spoiled by bad service. People outside seemed to be ordering drinks and were getting served with food too. Not happy.

As usual the food was lovely. The only criticism was that two other guests were seated close to us when the rest of the tables in the room were free. In view of the covid situation space is paramount.

Just what it says on the menu. Pub food - reasonably presented - pleasantly served - reasonable value. Surprised to be served 3 straight sausages rather than a Cumberland Ring, but still tasted OK and fulfilled the menu spec.

Well organised for covid, good atmosphere and delicious food , generous portions.
