Leicester is home to some of the very best in Indian food to be found anywhere in the world, and the delights on offer are not limited to just the city limits. Even in outlying areas like Lutterworth, down in the south of Leicestershire, the standard is superb and if you’re in the town and looking for a slap up curry, then look no further than The Indian Lounge on George Street. They offer all the classics, of course, from tandoori chicken, king prawns, tikka dishes and shashliks to all the curries that are so beloved of the British public. There are plenty of specialities that are only found at The Indian Lounge, however: dum biryani, sealed in a handi to steam the curry and the rice together, or Murg Shatkora, grilled chicken with the eponymous Bengali citrus fruit. Take a trip into the centre of town and bring your family and friends with you. You can find The Indian Lounge on George Street, but do remember to book ahead: this is one of the best Indian restaurants in Lutterworth.
Always a friendly greeting and great service and wonderful food. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere and fantastic value for money and great variety of choice on the menu. Staff are always happy to advise or cater for food allergies or dislikes. I took 8 friends with me on Saturday night and they all loved it, all said it was the best Indian restaurant they had been too for a while
Lovely food great flavour. You always get great value for money at Indian lounge and never come away hungry. If you want to try something new get the set meal for 2! It's amazing and you'll end up coming home with leftovers for the following day too.
Excellent food and service as always. Great atmosphere for a midweek meal. The variety of food on the menu is great and I always try something new when I visit.
Excellent food and service. We asked for small portion for my 95 year old mother, which they happily provided - and charged half price for, which was a bonus :-) 5 star
Quite good on our first time visit. Ample food couldn't manage it all, lovely flavours. Pleasant welcome on arrival, service not bad but a party of sixty expected so their minds were elsewhere. Will return and will certainly use the take out service. Used our VIP Dining card which they gladly accepted.
Excellent service and food. There's a varied choice of food on the menu meaning you can try dishes not usually found on Indian restaurant menus.
We had a good experience, the food was good and also the service was good. Overall it was what would be expected from a reasonable standard of restaurant.
A warm welcome and friendly atmosphere. Food very good with generous portions. We have eaten here several times with friends and family and they never disappoint.
Food was good, i found the waiter who attendend us very pushy and grumpy considering it was a quiet tuesday evening, we fell very rushed. This was our 1st visit and our last.
Food was good but the service was absolutely shocking, the waiter clearly could not be bothered, we had to rush our food to keep up with him, we were the only people there and it was clearly an inconvenience for him. Our bill was on the table within seconds of us finishing and we hadn't even asked for it, at the start of the meal he threw a napkin across the table to one of my guests. On the whole we all felt extremely uncomfortable and will definitely never go back!
