The Lamb Inn is always excellent, this visit was no exception.
Very nice food. Nice staff and very good atmosphere thanks
Lovely atmosphere. Quiet with a nice fire to keep you warm. Not too busy. Staff friendly. Food was excellent although a little on the pricy side, but worth it.
Had a fab meal , friendly service, lovely old world pub.
A lovely location. Excellent food every time. A wide ranging well thought out menu. The staff are all very welcoming and extremely efficient and pleasant service. I live 30 miles away and I happily drive past hundreds of other restaurants and pubs to come to the Lamb Inn. It’s that good. We took a number of friends this time and they were all highly complimentary in every respect. They did everything that they could to make it a great evening.
We really enjoyed the meal here. The Lamb Burger was really tasty, Steak was nicely cooked & the kids meal was a nice sized proportion too. Our friends had the vegan pie & the steak pie everyone was happy. The service fine but not amazing. They passed food and drink over my daughters head a couple of times which annoys me, it was pretty slow too, took about an hour for our meals to come out which is a long time for a 4 year old and it wasn’t that busy in there. The waiting staff didn’t really say please or thank when passing plates ect, just little things but they were noticed. I would eat here again!
My friend and I had a delicious couple of courses at The Lamb. She had the mushroom and goat's cheese (looked v. Posh) starter and a fully loaded pizza from their al fresco pizza oven and said both were amazing. I had the yummy Greek style lamb meatball starter and a pork and creamy peppercorn main. All washed down with a bottle or two of Chilean sauvi - perfect.
The food was generally overcooked and tasteless. The steak tasted more of the charcoal grill and the steak & ale pie was far too dry, especially with the veg and mash. Would have been better to have a small gravy pot with the pie. The soup and hot deserts came out so hot that you couldn't touch it for several minutes without burning your mouth. Even though I mentioned I was disappointed when ask if everything was OK when paying, I was not offered any discount, just a lame apology. Years ago the Lamb had a great reputation, and we went there thinking it would be a nice treat. For the cost of the meal for just three people (£85), I have eaten far better in cheaper places. Would not go back in a hurry.
The pizzas were the best we have all ever had and we had a lovely cold beer to accompany it. The location sat in the beer garden is tranquil and very easy to get lost for a few hours. Staff were friendly and very good service all round! Plus they do takeaway pizza do fish and chips and even ale!!! Will be a local visit regularly!!!
We had,as usual at this great pub,a truly lovely meal. We sat in the beautiful garden, were looked after by the friendly and efficient staff and were served the most amazing food. There is a wide choice of food and drink and the garden area is magical. We love the Lamb and are already planning our next visit.
