The Latchmere

Gorgeously refurbished, The Latchmere’s premises on the corner of Battersea Park Road and Latchmere Road have a new lease of life. It’s a lease that does, however, respect the time-honoured traditions of quality British pubs, and the cultural importance of the tenants upstairs. Theatre503, on the first floor, are an award-winning company that stage over 300 shows per year, prompting the Guardian to remark that Theatre503 is arguably the most important theatre in Britain today. And their home is all the more secure, now that adventurous London theatregoers have an obvious choice for pre-theatre dinners and drinks, right downstairs. The menu changes daily, so check the chalkboards for the latest 2- or 3-course warm-up to some of London’s most vital plays.

On warmer London days and nights, The Latchmere has you covered. Or rather not. Tucked behind this London gastropub’s Battersea Park Road premises is a south-facing courtyard garden, a more intimate snug area (perfect for private hire), a sunny terrace, and a fantastically distracting kids’ area allowing you – perhaps not the toddlers – to enjoy some al fresco wining and dining. With classic British cuisine on offer – with much of the produce sourced from Three Cheers Pub Co.'s own country farmstead – and an incredible range of beer, fine wines, and daring cocktails, the Latchmere is a perfect blend of traditional public house, meeting point and cultural hub right in the heart of Battersea.
