Booking was easy using Quandoo. Delicious food that was freshly cooked. Service was prompt and efficient. The staff were all friendly, polite and efficient. We appreciated that a jug of water was offered and refill available, all without asking. Would definitely recommend eating here and hope to return.

The food was gorgeous, although my chips on the 'Chip Shop Board' where a little too salted and had lost their delicious crips, it was tasty nonetheless.

Meet up of family in between locations. Great place to do this. Food was excellent, the waiter could not have been better. We have been before and looking forward to going again later in the year.

everything except the lamb cutlets was great - just the lamb was very chewy and the steak knife wasn't strong enough

The staff very kindly found us a table in the bar area because our guests insisted on bringing their dog with them (& dogs understandably not allowed in the restaurant). The table was great, the staff wonderfully attentive & friendly and the food/drink were excellent, however the bar was busy with a few loud individuals - but, it is a pub, so no complaints!

Unpleasant to have the tv on directly above our table. Very noisy in the bar area, difficult to hear conversations at our table. Food was good quality but very limited options available and large portions - only burger and chips offered as vegetarian option. Serving staff were friendly and gave a warm welcome

We had a family lunch over the weekend, the choice was excellent and portion size generous, desserts in particular. Our lovely waitress couldn't do enough to make sure we had everything we needed, including crayons and colouring sheets for the 5 year old ..it should've been busier, well worth a visit. We will go again.

Everything was great but do you really need a muted TV on? Half way point between us and relations so will visit again (if not in line of sight of offending TV) :)

Enjoyable family catch up despite it being St.Patricks day. Food as always well presented and delicious. Would appreciate wider choice of bitters including a weaker one ! Would visit again, as halfway between Hertfordshire and Shropshire.

Firstly, my waitress was great. But my drink order took 15 mins to arrive and food took nearly 50 mins to arrive. It was busy, but as all tables were reserved, it would have been obvious it was going to be a busy night. They definitely need more staff. Also, I know it's a family pub, but there were little kids running outsid, then inside, then outside, then inside... it would be nice to enjoy a relaxing meal...which is what I went for.

First visit, service was excellent, we arrived early and were seated straight away. Food options were varied. We were left for the perfect amount of time to decide on our food choices. Food was decent. We were checked on to ensure everything was ok. Was reasonably busy creating a good buzzy atmosphere. We were acknowledged again on leaving. Thank you all who looked after us today. Only downside was the cockatoo slightly noisy.

Excellent Sunday lunch. Used to use the pub a lot (as my M40 services) during my working life. Standard still as high as in previous years - nothing negative to say.

Lovely meal with friends. Sat in the corner window recess which is cosy although is a little echoey. Very good service from a lovely new waitress from Ireland. Very friendly. Portions quite large but tasty. Husband had the Irish stew which he loved. Will come again.
