Lovely food. Service was slow, and we had to ask for drinks several times. Staff seems very stressed with the amount of people in the restaurant and were rushing to do everything. Could not fault the food, was delicious.

Upstairs table much too dark for Sunday lunch. Might be okay for an romantic evening. Food was good service efficient , atmosphere felt cramped. Reasonably priced.

Lovely food, great service. Nice cozy pub downstairs with a charming restaurant with low beam ceilings upstairs. Would highly recommend. Menu offers a good selection of gluten free options for those who are gluten intorlerant.

Fantastic pub, food was excellent and location too. Went back twice in one day. Bigger than it seems from the outside and dog friendly xx

The food was disappointing. The service was slow, but very pleasant. I would have expected better for the price. Not a place to return, sorry.

We all enjoyed our lunch. The staff were very pleasant and service was good. I especially liked the tartan decour which looked like a recent refurbishment. I didn’t give top marks because I didn’t think my two coffees (latte and then Americano) were quite up to standards expected today. They were a little ‘thin’. Also, my fig, goats cheese and walnut salad had a little too much dressing, making it a little greasy. Otherwise a very good meal.

Traditional pub plus atrium dining room plus outdoor patio. Diverse menu from plain to fancy, including fresh fish (perhaps thus the name). Our meal was excellent. Service was prompt and friendly. Pricing is very fair. Recommended.

Good food, and varied gluten free options. Table ready when we arrived a little early. Great service and appropriate pricing. A village pub with a good selection of beers.

Lovely host and we had a lovely table. Beer lovely but food not so great. Veg pie dry and mash looked like it had been out a while as it had a dry skin!

Nice hot and tasty meal. Thought that a charge of £3 for a few peas and a few slices of carrot was unnecessary - most people want veg with their meal so why not a inclusive price rather than add-ons ! The icecream , crumble and brownie did really work. Expected he brownie to be warm and sticky rather a cake and cold plus too much crumbled biscuit !

The service was excellent and so was the food. Couldn't fault our visit. We both had the steak and ale pie which was very generous so no room for pudding.

Amazing food with huge portions served! A vast gin menu and a good food menu with good selection of meals. Atmosphere was great and such a quirky building in burford to visit...

The service was good and had heard good things, unfortunately the food wasn’t, the steak was really fatty and the lamb wasn’t what would call a shank, left really disappointed. The staff were good and only charged for some of food and drinks so as said can’t fault staff at all, but think better to go for proper pub food there.

A nice meal with good service. The choice of beers wasn't extensive, but the main purpose of going to this place was to have a good meal, which we did.

Lovely bustling pub. We went to celebrate our daughters 21st. Nice atmospheric pub in the heart of a beautiful Cotswold town with friendly service and great food. Thank you.

Upstairs is the place to be as downstairs is a bit spartan. It was cosy and quaint, in a Cotswolds sort of way. The service was friendly and efficient and the goats cheese salad was really very good. They do a lot of unusual gins which we enjoyed.

Great food, my wife is a coeliac and they coped with GF more than adequately whilst the service was polite and attentive without being intrusive. Excellent ale! We recommend without hesitation.

Excellent service and great food. Although we arrived early the staff went out of their way to find us a seat for the less able bodied guests we had

The food was delicious, and our waitress was lovely and very helpful. Only fault was the toilet environment which was in dire need of cleaning!

It was a nice place, good atmosphere. My only criticism was the pork I had for main was very tuff and dry. Given that was my main it is a big complaint

Friendly staff, good pub food in unhurried atmosphere. The pub is hundreds of years old but serves food in line with modern taste - vegan, gluten-free options. We had both lunch and dinner there so feel well able to comment.
