The Monument Whitstable is a friendly local pub that will charm your socks off. Fresh, home cooked, British pub food is why we love it, from starters like breaded whitebait or cheese pigs in blankets to mains like Hunter’s chicken, honey roasted ham, egg and chips or beer battered haddock. All the classics, as you can see, which go down a treat with a pint of ale or a glass of house wine. The Monument Whitstable is on Church Street, not far at all from Whitstable train station, where there’s also a pool table, darts, a lovely al fresco area and more. Dogs are welcome as well, but you don’t need to include those in your reservation...
affectionately Known as the 'Old Farts' club, me being the youngest of course!!! we visited on Friday 11/01/2019 its the first time we had been here as a club group, and we were not disappointed! the food was lovely and really generous portions for the money, our waitress was helpful, pleasant and attentive, I cant say we will return every month as we like to try other venues, usually in Whitstable as its central to most of us, but we will certainly add The Monument to our list of 'Go To' eating places.
This was the best Sunday roast my family and I have had EVER! Absolutely delicious, plenty of it and perfectly cooked. The service was excellent. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The price was reasonable for Whitstable and the lovely meal was worth every penny. We'll be back!
Not disappointed, Hunters chicken was mouth watering and very tasty, monumental burger out of this world, garlic bread was delicious and moorish, scampi and chips superb. Lovely atmosphere. Friends love to come here whenever they visit from Germany.
