The Mustard Seed Restaurant

Starter came before our wine and as it was not piping hot we ate it straight away. Waiting staff were very apologetic and made a deduction on our bill, this was appreciated. Mains good but I did feel my monkfish main course was on the small side. Puddings delicious as was coffee. Only other negative was the cold, I had my jacket over my shoulders as kept getting a cold draught ….

What a great recommendation. Great atmosphere and advance booking a must. My overall review is excellent. Great staff, clean friendly restaurant. Chicken dish was delicious. My only criticism is as a lone diner we either get seated right in the centre of the restaurant or stuck in a corner. Unfortunately this visit I was not only in a corner my back was to main entrance upstairs. A constant flow back and forward but also very cold and draughty on my back.

We did have to ask for water and drinks a few times but food was good and staff were friendly hence the stars!

I chose the 2 courses for £15.95. I had main and pudding. When I went to pay I discovered that 2 courses is starter and main and right enough that was in brackets. I feel that should be made clearer. I was stung for £7more than I thought I was going to have to pay

Really great visit to the Mustard Seed. Went at a time to get the early evening menu but ended up choosing from the Dinner Menu as we like the Mains better. Excellent friendly service and very tasty food.

Warm welcome & taken to table straightaway. Drinks order taken early but came after starters arrived (apology given). Good menu range + specials. Food was quick to arrive and very tasty +++. Finished with a delicious pudding. Would recommend

Starter tasteless Portion size of sea bass was disappointingly small

An early evening meal before going to Eden Court Theatre and we couldn’t have asked for more. Everything we ate, 3 courses each and chose different things, was truly delicious. Although we certainly didn’t need desserts after our gorgeous starters and mains, we simply could not resist. And the desserts were superb! Exceptional cooking all round and all presented beautifully. The restaurant was warm and cosy on that cold Nov night after quite a long journey there. We were greeted by a lovely young man who took us to our table, chatted and made us so very welcome. The waiting staff were absolutely perfect - friendly, efficient, and attentive. A wonderful experience and we can’t wait to come back.

One of our party of four was extremely disappointed with the sea bass. Well handled though by the management team and a refund promptly provided.

Absolutely fantastic we really enjoyed our experience from start to finish and considering the price wow. We went for the early evening offer of two courses it's so worth the money, and our waitress was lovely very attentive, throughly recommend this resturants. Great job guys.

Lovely food. Not the cheapest, but good quality & portion size. Plenty of choice, including the specials menu & the menu changes every month. Always have a nice wine off the specials board. Better than the more expensive restaurants in the town. Good service too. Have been here many times & hopefully many more to come.
