Great food and service at the mustard seed for the lunchtime menu today

Food tasty but not hot enough mashed potatoes were tepid.

Lovely food. Not the cheapest, but good quality & portion size. Plenty of choice, including the specials menu & the menu changes every month. Always have a nice wine off the specials board. Better than the more expensive restaurants in the town. Good service too. Have been here many times & hopefully many more to come.

Good food , but our 2 x roast lamb dishes and 1x pork loin dish were on cold plates and our food was not hot enough , such a shame . The other dish was the Hake which was fine .

young girl serving ys was enthusiastic and lovely! dont k ow her name. Blonde hair and piercings. Halloween dec's were cool. The food yummy! However, the young lassie went away, I assumed, for a break or service elsewhere, and we had to go up to ask for the bill and pay after trying to get someone's attention for about 20mins. Not a big problem as such but prefer getting bill then paying at table. It was like the girl went and then forgotten. Mustard seed is fab always a warm welcome by front of house. Food great. Staff lovely.

It is some time since we last ate at the Mustard Seed, and we are very glad that we paid a return visit. The food and service were as good as ever. We ate early in the evening, so the noise levels, which are an inevitable result of the design of the building, were not a real problem. We will be back!

The service and food was fantastic. Our waiter was very efficient and had excellent knowledge about which dishes were GF and what they could substitute ingredients with. It was difficult to fit water, wine glasses, side plates, bread basket all on the table for 2 as the dinner plates were rather too large or the table was too small! Always had a great experience here though, highly recommend.

We went to the mustard seed for a special occasion and had an absolutely wonderful dinner. The service and food were amazing and we would highly recommend this restaurant. Donna was our server and she was absolutely excellent.

Mackerel bruschetta was a little disappointing - very thick bread with a skiff of pate on top. My sister had GF oatcakes and was given a decent amount of pate. Chicken was very nice. Staff were lovely and atmosphere great as always.

From the moment we arrived we were treated as if we were the only people there. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was amazing

Lovely visit to the mustard seed after moving away from Inverness always had good experiences altho this time maybe because where we were seated (downstairs right opposite the bar tender) we had to put up with the bashing of the bell constantly when drinks orders were ready it was very loud and the waitresses who were very busy having no time to pickup was then met with more angrier bashing of the bell 😆 Waitresses were all very attentive and friendly. Food delicious.

Friendly & courteous staff, slightly limited main course choice, 2 of our party ended up having 2 starters. Weren’t told before ordering of what was unavailable or what the specials were. Enjoyed what we did have

This must have been at least our 15/16th visit and we solved it as usual. Booked to go back in 10 days time - different menu by then, but it is always great.

We visit the Mustard Seed quite frequently with various friends and always recommend it to visitors. This was just a birthday visit as a couple so we were seated in the ‘annexe’ area to the side of the entrance foyer where tables for two can be readily fitted. Unfortunately this meant an icy blast every time the door opened and led to a very chilly experience; my wife ate with her coat wrapped around her! The food and service were great as always but we missed the ambience and comfort of the main dining area and don’t plan on booking as a couple again…just in case.

Great lunch with friendly attentive service. Even offered an umbrella on leaving as the weather was so bad! Highly recommend.

I have been visiting the Mustard Seed since 2006, and indeed have often taken clients there. I have never had a bad meal, or poor service and this occasion was no different. The Early Evening/Pre-Theatre menue offers great value and as usual the place was extremely busy with anyone turning up with out a booking having no luck. Service was friendly, quick and efficient; the food was up to its usual excellent standard and we had no issues until I tried to pay. None of their card readers would work, apparently they'd had issues for a couple of days, but this was the worst. Taking cash out from an ATM may not have been an option for everyone, but fortunately we just happened (very unusually) to have sufficient on us to cover the cost. What would have been nice, and prevents me for giving top marks on this occasion, would have been a small gesture such as a free coffee, or even just an extra stamp in the loyalty card, to offset the inconvenience and frustration.

First time visit. pleased with service and will visit again in the future
