About The New Fountain Garden

Amid the old antique shops dotting Dorking’s well-known West Street in the town centre, there’s a little bit of the new when it comes to food. The New Fountain Garden trades in tradition – delicious Chinese cuisine is what it’s all about here – but nods towards modernity (or does it turn it’s back?) by ensuring that the health-conscious have a home here. No MSG, no artificial flavours or preservatives are allowed in this kitchen. Only fresh ingredients, herbs, spices, and the nous and passion of the chef and his team. Turn to the restaurant’s set menu selection for what the house recommends – and we second. The affordable Chef’s Recommendation menu for two or more features crispy seaweed and dumplings to start, aromatic crispy duck pancakes, sweet and sour pork, sizzling chicken in a black bean sauce, egg fried rice and more. For seafood fans, the luxurious New Fountain Garden's Seafood Special is the go.

Excellent food especially grilled dumplings, sizzler dishes and duck . Friendly and helpful staff. Nice atmosphere and reasonably priced. Would most certainly go back again

A really lovely restaurant. Food is always good here. My friend had the prawns in ginger and spring onion, which she tells me were absolutely gorgeous. I love their satay beef. We will be back.

The service was excellent. The food as always was too. However the restaurant is very cold. I also feel the steps on the dark carpet need to be highlited as its quite dark and they are very hard to see.

Excellent delicious food and service. I highly recommend this restaurant. A large selection of food on the menu, everything sounding tasty and I am sure would not disappoint.

We love all kinds of cuisine and, in our opinion, The New Fountain Garden is up there with the best for top-quality Chinese food at reasonable prices. We've dined there many times and have never had a poor experience. Staff are friendly, efficient and attentive - without being 'in your face' - and we readily recommend this restaurant to all. Enjoy! A quiet, polite, discrete dining experience in the lovely Dorking. They lways serve good quality food and drink. The New Fountain Garden has been around for a long time, and has stood the test of time.

Service was a little slow and staff seemed a little confused as to what they were meant to be doing. Not all items came out at the same time. We asked for a jug of water for the table and only one of our party was given a glass and poured water from the jug which was taken away? Asking for a gin and tonic and a rum and coke was difficult as they didn't understand what we were trying to say. But, they we're friendly and courteous and always smiling. Food was good.

Very good food, ambience and service but one irritation as the receptionist put our friends at the far end of the restaurant and put us on another table at the front and we sat there for 15 minutes before we found each other despite both giving the same name, after that it all looked up.

Excellent food and fantastic service! This was a first visit after a long break to this restaurant. (Previous visits the service had been slow but on this occasion it was perfect and I look forward to my next visit!) :-)

Staff very attentive with a warm welcomb on arrival. Food outstanding, but Kung po chicken more preferred in a light batter . Our fault as we failed to ask about that. All in all a lovely evening. Thank you.
