Overlooking the southern tip of Lake Windermere, The Newby Bridge Hotel and Restaurant has a location that already makes it the envy of many a restaurant in the UK. What distinguishes it from others with equally beautiful locations around the Lake District, however, is the food. The Newby Bridge Garden View Restaurant has an elegant dining room (balancing old-world kitsch and effortless chic) overlooking their Mediterranean Gardens, where you can enjoy some superb modern British fare from head chef Kevin Hodge. The menu changes in keeping with the seasons (even daily sometimes, depending on what the chefs are hauling in from the garden) but delicious dishes of world-famous Cumbrian beef and lamb are a common feature. Desserts are a big deal at The Newby Bridge Hotel and Restaurant, calling on some continental European influence for treats like sweet Belgian waffles or Italian panna cotta, an exquisite end to an exquisite meal.
Very good, clean and friendly, good food, nice feel in the restaurant, car parking was difficult as it was so busy, really enjoyable experience too
Excellent food and surroundings. Staff extremely polite and helpful. Very enjoyable family lunch. Range of food, especially the starters was very good. Rang of meats on the Carvery very good.
The food was delicious, couldn’t fault it at all. The waiters were very friendly and the restaurant was overlooking some beautiful gardens. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is passing, it was a lovely evening!
