About The Newby Bridge Hotel and Restaurant
Overlooking the southern tip of Lake Windermere, The Newby Bridge Hotel and Restaurant has a location that already makes it the envy of many a restaurant in the UK. What distinguishes it from others with equally beautiful locations around the Lake District, however, is the food. The Newby Bridge Garden View Restaurant has an elegant dining room (balancing old-world kitsch and effortless chic) overlooking their Mediterranean Gardens, where you can enjoy some superb modern British fare from head chef Kevin Hodge. The menu changes in keeping with the seasons (even daily sometimes, depending on what the chefs are hauling in from the garden) but delicious dishes of world-famous Cumbrian beef and lamb are a common feature. Desserts are a big deal at The Newby Bridge Hotel and Restaurant, calling on some continental European influence for treats like sweet Belgian waffles or Italian panna cotta, an exquisite end to an exquisite meal.

Great lunch - best Yorkshire puddings ever, succulent meat - a carvery to be recommended Very friendly and helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble.
Very friendly place with excellent food and a nice ambience. The food was beautifully presented and very tasty with a good selection on the menu.
Stunning food, excellent presentation and superb customer service. Highly recommended. Service was quick and the waitress was very personable. The fish was cooked perfectly and the Italian vegetarian option was beautiful, served in a 'bowl' made purely from melted Parmesan. Amazing.
Helpful & pleasant staff. Menu choice varied & tasty. Could do with turning down the lighting in the evening. Could do with a better choice of background music than disco.
Pleasant hotel which is very dog friendly. Pool sauna and jacuzzi very welcome and 'gym' useful though cramped. Food fine though as we were eating in the bar area (with dog) didn't experience the dining room. Good range of wines and beers.
The Huntsman's bar offered traditional pub grub in a slightly tired setting. The main course gammon was fine. However the pudding choice was poor - only 3 and the strawberries and cream was appalling value for £5.95 it consisted of 2 spoons of cream and about 2 small strawberries diced up.
Snug bar for drinks and a good menu in the restaurant with the desserts a highlight - wines are well priced and the service very friendly and overall a good evening out (well in as we were staying there too!)
Sunday Lunch was excellent, we viewed the spar pool whilst visiting....Very nice. We will certainly be staying very soon, to use it. Good service, friendly staff, Highly recommended, first class.
Had an excellent meal at the Newby Bridge Hotel. Good choice on the menu and friendly staff.Lovely restaurant with views over the garden. Will definitely go back when next in the area.
Friendly and well placed hotel. Restaurant had a good choice of food , well enough presented in a good sized room . Bedroom with good view and updated bathroom .
I think they are a bit short staffed. Carvery was good could have done with a bit more choice of vegetables.the dining room is nice after the refit.
Poor menu choices from the restaurant. Sirloin steak wasn't cooked as ordered (medium) was more raw & wasn't very appetising at all. Really didn't enjoy dinner in the restaurant, and wouldn't recommend.
