Went with my partner for our Anniversary as was visiting from Manchester. I tried to order off specials menu, I pointed at the seafood item I wanted to waitress, was then corrected on my pronunciation and had the dish explained to me. Then when a chicken dish I didn't want or ordered came to table I was told it was my fault the order was incorrect due to my pronunciation. The fact I actually pointed at the item I wanted seemed to be totally forgot and as result i felt slightly humiliated and belittled. They did offer to replace my dish but no such offer was made in relation to my partners meaning their dish would have been stone cold by the time my replacement was brought to the table. Needless to say I thought our Anniversary dinner was ruined not to mention rushed as the whole time frame from being seated to vacating was 50 minutes. We will never return

Excellent food, drink and service. Somewhat shabby chic environment but this didn't deter from overall enjoyment. We were only a small party of 3 diners but staff were coping admirably with a large group in a cramped but busy restaurant.

Very pleasant staff and amazing food. I ordered the special lamb shank and it was very tender and just melted off the bone. We tried the Thai wine what was a nice accompaniment to the meal

Great food and service. Lovely night. Had soft shell crab, prawn toast and prawn spring rolls. Followed by sea bass in spicy sauce and prawn massman curry.

Great food, excellently helpful staff. Eight over 60s men had a very good night some sharing a banquet and others on the a la carte menu. All highly satisfied.

Good service, lovely authentic food. Just like back in Thailand! It's a bit of a climb up the stairs but was lovely to see into the kitchens which are almost on the stairs. The real deal! 😄

Excellent food, great value and attentive but not overbearing service - faultless ! Looking forward to a revisit next time we are in Newcastle. We booked but they were managing to accommodate people without bookings

The Old Siam is an oasis of refinement and gentility in a hectic corner of Newcastle. The staff are delightfully courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. The food is a triumph. I cannot recall abetter couple of hours than those spent dining at The Old Siam.

The food is amazing in here, and well priced. The only thing I would say is that sometimes the service is a bit slow, there is a musty smell in the corridor/stair well and the toilets could do with dressing up a bit.

Very warm welcome. Got our drinks wrong at first but the wrong ones were kept and on the house with profuse apologies even though we really didn't mind (more bemused at the experience of getting sambucca and coke instead of vodka!). Food, as always, out of this world delicious. Only problem was we were so full from our mains that we didn't have room to try one of the scrummy looking new desserts they have started doing. Highly recommend, will definitely go back again.

Service was great & food so tasty. We had one of the set menus for 5 of people, though rather a lot of tinned button mushrooms on this visit.

Great food and great service , we will be back . There are far more expensive restaurants in Newcastle that don't serve as good food as Old Siam 😋.

A party of 9 went to this quaint restaurant it felt like sitting in someone's living room, and we were a bit squished. Food was nice, plenty of it but I felt quite overpriced. When I booked I advised that there would be 9 or 10 of us. They charged us £25 service charge saying the booking was for 10 we found this quite extortionate . The front of house staff were very perfunctory and didn't try to build a rapport. Overall ok place but wouldn't go for a special occasion.

Really nice, helpful and polite staff. Food excellent and price very reasonable. Restaurant is in a nice spot and has a clean look about the place. Worth booking in advance as a lot of people notice how inviting it is as the walk past. ****

Wasn't too busy but not sure why as beautiful food & highly presentable & polite team of workers. Good value for money & was nice to watch the Toon's 'wildlife' passing by from the window seat. ;-) Thank you - booking was very easy too.

Simply the best Thai restaurant we have ever been to. The food was lovely and the staff were friendly and helpful. If you like Thai and are in the Tyneside area, then a visit to The Old Siam is a must.

The Old Siam is thoroughly recommended for a meal out with a smaller group of friends or family. Fantastic service and good food. The setting is cosy and relaxed.
