Great service. Had the Sunday roast lamb. A good range of well cooked vegetables. Nice deserts. Only thing preventing a 6 was that we were not offered a choice about how well done we liked our meat.

Fantastic service and the food was stunning! We were welcomed when we came in and sat at a beautifully decorated table - the food options were fantastic and the apple creme caramel desert was out of this world! Highly recommended!

The food was great but we found the choice of wine rather expensive. We were seated in an area of the pub with no other people, so not much atmosphere, personal choice some people might prefer it.

Loved the friendliness of the staff. Food was great, although my ice cream had partially melted and refrozen (Chrystal had formed) Would go again though

Very pleasant atmosphere and staff. Starters and mains menu was very good and the food we had was very tasty though the vegetable portions could have been more generous. The desert menu was disappointing only offering three popular choices of cheesecake, sticky toffee pudding and ice creams. Deserts made with seasonal fruit would have been more interesting.

Good friendly efficient service as is always the case when visiting the Old Volunteer my husbands meal was cooked to perfection mine was almost there but the meat was a little under cooked for my personal taste. The atmosphere as always very good this is a very well kept pub in an area short of good pubs which are good to eat at.

Always service and great food in a nice atmosphere. Why go to a chain for frozen food when you can have quality for just a little bit more money.

Friendly staff greeted us and were attentive throughout our meal. The wine choice seemed good. My rib eye steak was unfortunately a little grisly, but I'm sure that's just the cut rather than the cooking.

Excellent food and superb beer! waited a bit longer than usually expected - but food cooked from fresh. Quite noisy later on due to a larger family party. Lovely polite, erudite and effective staff. Will definitely go back. Superb Lunch!
