Lovely food and good service unfortunately it was the last day for the landlords so can't comment on future

Lovely atmosphere, great deal on pasta which was delicious and very friendly welcoming staff.

Nearly all good. My meal - lasagne - was lovely. My friend’s meal not so good, but the manager was excellent. She replaced the meal, and this one was good.

The food was awful with the atmosphere not much better. Wouldn’t go again.

The staff were attentive without over doing it and very pleasant. The food was generously portioned and very tasty. My wife had the lamb roast and I had sirloin both of which were very good. We are on holiday in Chester but will definitely come back again this week.

table not ready when we arrived which appeared to be related to an earlier party arriving late. Soon sorted though were very well looked after during our visit. Very friendly and good food

Very poor, pub needs total overall, not much on the menu nearly everything run out.

Visited the piper as we read good reviews, on arrival we didn’t expect food to be great just average pub food as decor looked like it needed a bit of an update. Staff were so friendly as we weren’t from area and food was fantastic and fresh.. would visit again if we were in area

Wow, seriously underestimated and over delivered. Looked like normal country pub, but food was great, service amazingly friendly. Impressed, beats Marco’s across at Hilton.

First time we have visited here. We went for dinner and at first I wasn’t too impressed with the table we were sat at. However the food and service made up for this easy. The kids loved their meals and with dessert included were over the moon, they were even given a chocolate bar before they left. The staff were fab and made the visit much better than I initially thought. Don’t judge a book by its cover.

Average - not bad, not really that good either. Will definitely try somewhere else if I’m in the area again. Thought I’d gone to the wrong place after reading other reviews!

Very slow service, mainly because of one poor girl doing all the work, but once the food arrived it was great. Really lovely food served nice and hot. Annoying bloke at the next table - don't know how he ate his food as didn't stop talking long enough to put anything in his mouth, ironically complaining at one point about someone he knows who never stops talking! However, can't blame The Piper for that. In summary, great but not if you're in a hurry!

Lovely pub, lots of tous to keep the little ones amused. Lots of choice on the menu, and the food was delicious, good portions and great value for money. Wo would definitely eat here again.

A nice relaxed atmosphere. Really enjoyed our Saturday night dinner here. The soup of the day was very tasty and amazing pastry for the mains! Attentive service.

Food was delicious and we didn't have to wait too long to eat. Shared a bottle of shiraz which was tasty and a good price. Staff are friendly and made us feel welcome.

Good food, reasonable price. I was surprised at the availability of tables. There were lots of people eating but also lots of tables available. Service was friendly and reasonably quick.

We arrived after a long journey and received a really warm welcome. The host was attentive throughout with nothing too much bother. We had a lovely meal and would recommend The Piper.

We were stopping at the Hilton and decided to try the piper for lunch. We had the Sunday lunch which was really nice and friendly staff.

Always look forward to eating in the Piper delicious food ingredients are sourced locally & taste so fresh top notch have recommended to many friends looking forward to my next visit
