Beautiful food and great staff top class and worth it

Staff were very welcoming & were also lovely with our granddaughter who is 2 years old . The food was great very one enjoyed their meal . I would go back again.

The first hot meal in Ambleside, others need to improve quickly, I won't name and shame. Service was friendly, quick, but not rushed and very unusual for us to have 3 courses, we enjoyed it that much. All the food was very tasty and presented beautifully and service with a smile that is missing from so many places these days

Nice and friendly staff and some very nice wine. My steak was very nice as was my potted shrimp starter. I also demolished my desert. My partner is Vegetation so struggled a little with her choices to be fair so had a side salad to start and Camembert as her main.

As always a lovely meal in a lovely setting. Food and serive were excellent.

The food was really nice and the staff were super friendly and helpful. It was abit hot in the room, with no air con and not much ventilation but it was a hot day and it’s an old building so it was to be expected. The portion sizes were perfect.

We had a delicious Sunday roast. Two of us had beef and two had lamb. Both meats were delicious and there was a very generous portion of meat. Vegetables, potatoes, Yorkshires and gravy were all delicious too. Very nice ambience and friendly staff as well.

Excellent visit from start to finish... a lot of restaurants can learn from the customer service standards. Food Excellent as always

Had a good meal at the priest hole last night, we did have starter and main both were nice , but struggled to finish as large portions, good service.

Gorgeous food (Sunday lunches and a sausage sandwich with fries), great beer and lovely staff, what more could you ask for? Highly recommend The Priest Hole. We came last year too and if anything it's better than we remembered.

Great visit to the Priest Hole. Every member of staff who visited our table were excellent. Excellent service and food. Really nice inside. Loved the history of the place which one of the gentleman serving told us about and then gave us a postcard about it!! Just fab- loved it but book ahead! *****

Excellent food as always and the friendliest staff. It’s always a complete pleasure to come back to the Priest Hole and no visit to the Lakes would be complete without it.

We were looking forward to returning to the Priest Hole as we visit every time we are in the area. The food was as good as ever the atmosphere friendly and service was great, it is sad to know a lot of the regular staff have not made it back to work after Covid but the staff there made the experience just as good as ever. I would heartily recommend the Priest Hole to anyone looking for good value amazing honest food.

The service was wonderful and the atmosphere in the restaurant was really nice but what made the visit was the food which was fabulous. I enjoyed the visit so much that I booked a table for the following evening.

Good food and felt very safe eating there as they clean the chairs and tables unlike many places that clean only the tables

Tasty food. Speedy service. Warm n pleasant atmosphere. I ate veggie & enjoyed falafel burger after our starter of mixed olives. Too full for pud!

Ordered the pie and the crust was rock hard and the meat on the edge of was dry. It must have kept warm under a lamp and dried out. Shame the meat inside was great quality. 😟☹🥺
