Food was amazing as usual. We've been quite a few times. Always good. One problem from this visit was we didn't feel welcome from the 2 staff members.

Obviously a popular place. Slightly disappointed with our table - we were seated next to the bar near an entrance so there was constantly people coming and going in a fairly tight space so felt a bit cramped and therefore not a particularly relaxing experience. Plus our table was on a wobbly part of the floor so kept moving although I accept it is a very old historic building but the constant traffic meant it wobbled constantly. The food was good and reasonably priced and service was fine. All in all, a pleasant experience.

We had a fabulous night, lovely food and wine, the service was superb and huge thanks to Jaqueline who really made the night for us, she had put balloons and banner out for my husbands birthday, was so friendly, knowledgeable about all the dishes on the menu. Fabulous all round

Food was ok. The fish and chips came with a "pretend" sheet of newspaper on the plate with the food on top. It served no purpose whatsoever. It absorbed the vinegar and ripped while cutting food. We appreciate it is a very old building but desperately in need of a coat of paint

Thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere was good however, service was a little slow, but we definitely will be returning.

Lovely early evening meal. Quiet as it was the start of the evening but perfect for me. Attentive and friendly service. Food was great - not fussily presented and perfectly cooked. Great little restaurant.

Service and food were exceptional-always visit when ever we are in the lakes and have never been disappointed

Friendly waitress. Food was ok, the pigs in blankets needed to be cooked/crisped up more, the steak pie was tasty and tender but the vegetables were spoiled with some sort of aniseed taste. Quite cold in the restaurant, no heating on.
