I love this pub, always go there when I’m back in uk. They need to turn the heating up though it was quite cold inside

Food was mixed. Decent portions but the meat was dry and there wasn't enough gravy. Chicken liver parfait was tasteless and the Xmas pudding barely had any sauce with it. The restaurant was really cold when we arrived. The staff turned a gas heater on but it was really noisy and when they turned it off it quickly became very cold again. The place lacked atmosphere - no music and very quiet. The service was friendly though.

The place is very nice, the ambiance is great, refurbishment went really well. The Christmas decoration is awesome. The staff was nice, though they didn't really checked the table if we wanted anything else, or took the dirty dishes. The food was pretty average, not bad, but nothing extraordinary, could have been hotter.

Sunday roast was very good Beef was thickly sliced and cooked well (slightly pink). Yorkshire pudding was large and tasty, as were the roast potatoes

The food was cold, the building was cold, it didn’t have warm atmosphere. The nut roast was greasy with no vegetables in it. Service was poor and absent throughout the meal. We complained to management and they responded kindly and apologized.

A very nice meal and great service! This was a busy pub- restaurant but there was a really good menu with lots of choice and everything was freshly prepared. The staff were very helpful and friendly despite it being busy with office Christmas night out clientele

I have been to this pub many times in the past having meals with my family. The food has always been excellent. This evening I had dinner with my daughter who was just back from Croatia. We are both very fond of good food but this evening we were bitterly disappointed by the meal. Dull first course and my fish & chips was very poor as the fish was dry and badly over cooked. A bitter disappointment.

We had a wonderful, relaxed evening celebrating a birthday with some close friends. Overall atmosphere and ambiance was great and nice touch of historical feel by an 1829 built pub. Food was excellent, and all staff were attentive, helpful and with a good sense of humour. I had often driven past, but will certainly return!

Service was very poor. Two dishes arrived with extra hair at no additional charge. Starters and roast pork was enjoyable.
