The Real Greeks

One of the most popular casual eateries in St Helens Town Centre, The Real Greeks is a place you can tell is run by, well, real Greeks. Starting with a smorgasbord of tasty meze (including stuffed dolmadakia, keftedakia minced beef, saganaki, fried squid and tangy tzatziki), The Real Greeks roll out an encyclopaedia of traditional Greek favourites done better than anywhere in St Helens. Vegetarians are spoilt for choice between gemista (stuffed tomatoes and green peppers), paputsaki (aubergines stuffed with caramelised onion, sweet garlic and tomato marmalade) and a host of other traditional treats, carnivores should go straight for The Real Greeks’ famous mixed grill meat plate for 1-4 people, while swordfish souvlaki is unbeatable for seafood lovers.
