A feature of Northampton’s town centre for almost half a decade, The Royal Bengal is the city’s most established Indian restaurant, having been dishing up delicious, authentic Indian fare since 1975. Their current Bridge Street premises are a mixture of contemporary and traditional, providing a welcoming atmosphere that suits a romantic date as well as a sociable get-together. As if it needs to be stated given The Royal Bengal’s longevity and popularity, the food here is exceptional, from their classic biryani and balti to the chef’s specialty satkora chicken with sour Bangladeshi fruit, and you can get a taste of it all with their elaborate four-person tandoori banquet. For those looking for delicious Indian food in the centre of Northampton, The Royal Bengal has had the answer for over 40 years.
Reasonably priced, great food. Have visited a few times in the past year and have enjoyed each time, particularly an Elvis night. Staff very friendly.
Great value for money and decent food. Good service but refurb may spruce up surroundings. A lot of competition re cuisine with Wellingborough Road offering better options
Staff very slow, having to wait for service. Didn't clear the table before the main course came and no personal space. Starters and main over cooked. Would not go back.
